I'm looking to purchase 350 gold plate chargers for our reception, or rent them. The rental company we are using for linens, etc., want to charge $7 per charger. I'm looking to the boards to find out if you know (a) a wholesaler for plate chargers, (b) a place to buy pre-owned, (c) a website that has good deals (I've already found one site that will charge around $3 a plate)

I'm don't think this is the best place to post this request, so if you have ideas for other boards to post this, that would be helpful, too.

Honestly? Check Hobby Lobby . MIL purchased the gold chargers for our wedding there at less than $2 apiece (she haggled). I'd let you have them, but we sold them to the Cincinnati Club to add to their stock after the wedding.

I have seen the same gold chargers at hobby lobby for $2 a plate and also at a second hand store for $5 a plate. I am renting mine from Prime time party rental in dayton, they were charging $1.50 a plate but I had said I could buy them for $2 then sell them for $1 and still pay less than they wanted me to pay, Then they went down to $.75 a plate!

I got them at bed bath and beyond for like $4. With the 20% they were even cheaper.

My future sister-in-law was on here and told me about this post. I was in the same boat a year and a half ago at my wedding. We wanted Gold chargers but everywhere was WAY too expensive. I ended up buying them at Old Time pottery for about $1.25 a piece. They have been sitting in boxes in my Mom's garage ever since and she is DYING for me to get rid of them. There are at least 200, maybe even more like 250. I'd have to go count them. Imagine you could buy 100 or so more from one of the other suggested places. I have forwarded this link to my mom, so she may be contacting you.

What I'm not sure about is whether the chargers have to be kosher or not (we are getting married and the reception are in our synagogue). I know you don't eat off of them but I'm not sure the rules on using chargers that have already been used at a non-kosher wedding. We're going to look into it, and will definitely take you up on your offer if we can!

KSBolt, Thank you for your offer, but unfortunately the synagogue will only let us use "kashered" items, which means the chargers would have to be specially blessed and cleaned by a rabbi.

We are going to buy new ones so avoid that process. But we really appreciate your post!

I actually bought 250 gold plate chargers for my wedding next month at Hobby Lobby! They were about $1.25 each and they are honestly gorgeous. They didn't have them all in stock at the time but were able to order. Hope that helps!

SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY! We bought them in November I think-no coupon but my Mom heard something about them putting them on sale, so she went in. I would check with them and see if they have any sales coming up on them-they are so nice there!

update: my mom found them at Hobby Lobby on sale for $0.99!!!!

I'm so excited; our linens are in, our florist is working on a mock-up of our centerpieces, and the tables are really coming together.
