Wedding Cost!

Ok so this is my first time posting a poll, YAY!!! How much $$ is your wedding going to be?

ETA: The entire wedding, including vendors, food/drinks, dress, favors. But NOT including honeymoon/spending money.

Re: Wedding Cost!

  • I am currently at $14,500ish.  We are estimating 55 guests.
  • Are we including all of our vendors in this cost?  Or is this just for the reception food/liquor?  Is the honeymoon and spending cash included?  Dress?

I was thinking of the entire wedding including the vendors but not including the honeymoon/spending cash. I'll edit the original post!

  • Oof... we're at $37k right now and that's not including bouquets/bouts, tuxes, postage for mailing our invites, other paper stuff, etc, so I def see it going over $40k.

We're estimating about 140 guests, but only have to guarantee 110... so hopefully more people don't come than we're planning on!!

Wow!! Who put down $5,000-$10,000?? I just would like to see how you are doing this!

We're at around $20,000 for 220 guests. I don't mind having all 220 show up but I am a little bit nervous about the guest list being at 255. A lot of them are courtesy invites though.

Seriously... my brother got married almost 10 years ago and his wedding was about $40k.

The only thing we splurged on were our rings and the only thing we comprimised on was venue.

(I REALLY wanted to get married at the Olde Mill Inn or the Imperia but the cost was just so high for us... we got the Bridgewater Manor down to $98pp for a Saturday night, 110 person minimum, so it was worth it IMO)

I voted $5,000-10,000 as well!   Here's my breakdown because I love me some spreadsheets.

This is assuming FULL attendance which is 75 guests in Jackson Hole/Grand Teton National Park, however 12 of those are children under 3 which are FREE.  So really these are numbers for a headcount of 63.  This does not include our 3 night cabin rental or the Pizza Party on Friday.

    $6,370.32     Reception - venue $1,250**, apps/dinner $2,709, alcohol $1,134, tax/tips $1,277

    $539.19     Attire - dress $428, slip rental $20, accessories $65, FI's outfit $60

$197.79     Mailed Paper - STDs $36, invitations sets (2 hours of designer time, print on catprint.com) $106, stamps $22

$1,550.00     Photographer - engagements, 8 hours wedding day, album, large prints, CD with full printing rights, plus her $250 travel fee from Salt Lake (that's a deal!)

$420.00     Ceremony - marriage license and certified copy $30, officiant $200, music (cello player free), bench/aisle set up on banks of the Snake RIver $150, FI's ring $40

$605.00     Reception Details - cake $200, flowers $300, DIY projects***

    $9,736.30 TOTAL

That is pretty dang good for Jackson Hole, land of the uber pricey.

** What the $1,250 rental fee with 5 hours gets you: log cabin style picnic tables, limited choice of tablecloths and napkins, burlap runners, red lanterns for table, hanging and potted plants, mason jars or flower boxes for table, paper lanterns to cover light bulbs, wedding coordinator, wait staff, bartenders, umbrella heaters, fire pit and non stop views of the Tetons!

***DIY project cost could go up but the ideas I already have in mind are not going to cost much, but I think the food costs will be less.
  • I also put 5,000 to 10,000. But that's only because of an economy difference. Right now FI has calculated that our budget should be 4,900 but that needs to be revised haha. I'd say with everything we should be looking at 6,000 tops. I guess it would be the equivalent of a US 15, 000 or 20,000 wedding? Not really sure lol
  • We're having a wedding for approx. 60 people and I'm in the $20,000-$25,000 range, if anything i hope I go down and not up.
    . Anniversary aandt image
  • I think the reception will be about $30k (for ~220 guests) for us. The ceremony and photographer add up to another $5k. But then when you add dress, groom's attire, transportation, invitations, etc. it will be about $40k. If you also include Rehearsal Dinner, Sunday Brunch, hotels for us, gifts for attendants, all the little DIY stuff I've been doing, etc. it would be about $50k. It's crazy how it all adds up so fast...

I'm up to $13,495. We still need flowers, booze, and a photobooth. So it will probably be slightly more than $15,000.

I'd say this is about average for the area. But, it sure adds up quick!

Edit: We are inviting 200, and we expect 160.

  • $20,000-$25,000 right now. That's actually quite a bit for this area, but we ended up splurging on both our band ($3,000) and our photographers ($3,300 which I've heard is pretty good for other areas of the country, but for Louisiana, that's the most expensive photographer I found, and incidentally our favorite) and then my wedding band alone is over $1000. It's kind of a bummer because our wedding costs the same as my car right now, but we're only doing it once, so we may as well do it exactly as we want it!

  • I voted on $15000-20000 out venue is breaking down to about $35 per person and our flowers are around $1200 $500 for our cake and the charge for cutting it from the venue, then our photographer is $1300 and our dj is $900. Plus limo $300, attendant gifts, buying linens for $340. All of this with a guest count of 206 currently hoping for closer to 150 and 24 tables hoping for closer to 18 tables. Centerpieces get pricey.
