Re: Help me procrastinate.

  • j i think it hurt so bad because it's worst on the fingertips, the most sensitive spot. the burns on the palm aren't as bad. i touched the handle for like 2 seconds but that's all it took, freaked h out. poor guy went racing outside for the aloe plant. then finished cooking my lunch for me.
  • WHen will you be here? It better not snow anymore here. Although last year (or the year before?) we got like 1/4" on May 1st.

It was last year.  I remember very clearly because it was the weekend before our wedding and i was all "OHMYGODIFITSNOWSNEXTWEEKENDIWILLHURTAPUPPY!"  And then it was like 70 and sunny and gorgeous for our wedding.

I'll be there May 10-14th.  I'm looking forward to it.  I think the last time I was in the area was for a Ben Harper concert like 6 years ago.
  • ha, autocorrect sucks. i was typing to reils and it kept correcting to twila. they aren't even close!
  • AATB with autocorrect is some funny shiit.

J, it was 70 for our wedding too. In November. Boobs got a foot of snow the next weekend ;)

OK. I have a decor question, but it's for the nursery. Am I allowed to talk about that in your thread?!
  • Think the touch screen is worse thAn the autocorrect sometimes. The buttons are small. Wtf. My fingers don't have ball point tips.

  • Lol J I just found out Coolio is live at crosstown tonight. Too funny

  • Too bad. Here goes.
So we're painting the walls this color:

and I picked out this crib bedding set (there are a few patterns, but all in this color scheme)
    and this is the crib

SOO my question. These curtains? or too busy?

  • I might get plainer curtains Steph. Haha or autocorrect stephAn. I'm also inept at decorating.
    panther
  • Steph I think that would look good- as long as the patterns aren't right next to each other, if that makes sense.
  • I was thinking that originally, AATB. But I don't want the room to be too boring. It's just the crib sheets that are patterned. We'd probably get a solid blanket (once we can have a blanket in there.)
  • How much other decorative stuff will you have?  If you're keeping things rather plain and just doing the fun bedding and curtains, I think the curtains are fine.  If you're going to put stuff up on the walls, I'd probably go with simpler curtains.

this. takes too long to say it again one-handed.
  • I KNOW I put two bay leaves in my stew.  I only found one.  That will be a nice surprise for someone...

  • haha. We might frame a few things, but no over-the-top wall decorations or anything. That's why I was trying to find patterned curtains. The crib will be on the opposite wall from the window, too.

I think I'll make a trip to IKEA and see what they look like in person.
  • P.S. are our medals gone forever? I was really looking forward to getting silver again.

    Email I got yesterday:

    "Hi Mods,

Thank you so much for your patience while we fix the issues you've been reporting. Wanted to give you an update in case you had questions.

Starting 4/26 - You'll be able to moderate via mobile view

Starting 4/30 - Sort order feature will be fixed and badges will be back.

I'll let you know if those dates change and please let me know if you see any other issues."
  • So we can plan on TK being down on the 26th and 30th Anna?  Anytime they mess around behind the curtain everything goes to hell for the day.

Adams parents just called, what a fucking trainwreck. I cant even believe he came from that family. Without revealing to much his mom is only working part time, his dad is an asshole who wont get a job (he is retired but doesnt bring in a lot on his pension and hes not old enough for OAS) and theyve had to refinance their house AGAIN. Apparently their mortgage is only 300$ a month and they are still struggling. Oh, and his sister, her baby daddy's first kid is ALSO living with her (and her 3 kids), the dad isnt, but his other daughter is. All on her welfare cheque.

    wtff!
  • That's crazy Nebb yet not surprising based on people in general.

We went to Chilis for lunch today because it was near the stores we needed to hit up. FH loves their chips and salsa and I find it passably decent. I'm really irritated that their nutritional info will only give you the calories for full meal with fries. I got broccoli so I had to estimate how many calories were in the half a sandwich I ate.

We watched Spies Like Us tonight. It really made me remember how many of the movies I grew up with centered around the Cold War. Yet people who aren't that much younger than me would be a bit puzzled what the big deal was when watching these movies.

I hate that about the calories on things. I like when every individual thing is spelled out separately.
  • That's nuts Nebb. I question how FI turned out normal too. His family is BSC.

If it wasnt for the fact that my husband looks so much like his brother, id think he was adopted.
  • Blech, I just found the perfect house to rent the weekend of our wedding (most of our OOT guests are staying together) but FH claims the area is too ghetto.

We used to live 2 blocks away! I think it would be fine but he's worried a guest could get mugged. This did happen on our old block (never to us) so he may have a point. He's lived here his whole life so I usually defer to him about this kind of stuff but the house is otherwise perfect. We'll be using it for our "welcome dinner" too and this one had the most seating.
