We have changed our wedding date... well, year

Need words of encouragement as we had to change our wedding to summer 2012 instead of summer 2011.

After much thinking, we realized that to have the weeding of our dreams, with a dream honey moon to Hawaii, we needed more time. This change will not only give us more $$ to play with, but a lot more time to plan it.

I know it is the right thing to do, but still can't help to no longer be excited...

Just needed to write it out to come to the realization that it's really 2 years from now instead of one.

You did the right thing.  It's better to push it back and have the wedding of your dreams rather than rush into it and only have something you're okay with.

We just did the same, pushing it from this year to next June (mainly because FI was laid off earlier in the year).

It'll all work out! And it gives you more time to save and plan right?

Good luck! I'm sure we'll be here on the boards for a while longer together :D

We waited almost 2 years before our wedding date (got engaged July 2008 and are getting married next month).  At first it seemed like a lifetime away, but it goes by fast.  We had to wait the 2 yrs because of financial reasons, since we are paying for it ourselves and bought a home a yr ago.

It will fly by and in the end, you will have the wedding of your dreams and it will all be worth it!

By the time we get married we'll be engaged for just under 2 years... 23 months to be exact! Trust me, it'll fly by and you'll wish to being back to 2 years out!

Thanks for your kind words you all. I know, it will fly by, i just need to get excited again. i think i will set a date in May 2012 and send save the date cards out. This way i know it is really happening.

It just seemed that i was getting the bits of it, by drawing and inspiration board and all. It was  little difficult because i wanted to incorporate too many things at the same time. All the color will be incorporated in my wedding with blue being the main color lilac with a hint of green. The green will be very subtle and probably only represented in the flowers.

Color inspiration come from hydrangeas which are the main flower accented by white peonies.  and of course a lot of diamonds.

Sorry to make you guys read this much, but wanted your thoughts on this as i have been driving myself crazy about it.

    Thanks Again

Its fine!! My engagement is already a year and a half and im not getting married until may 2011!! Having plenty of time to plan and save has helped me alot. I have had first pick with all of my vendors and the stress of a time crunch is not needed because you have plenty of time. My advice is even though you moved the date... keep planning early. Then when the time comes for the wedding all you have to worry about is your dress alterations and tasting the menu. :-)
