Budget Caribbean Cruise?

Can anyone recommend some websites for a cheap caribbean cruise? We would like to find something under $2000, preferably all-inclusive or something of that nature. It doesn't really matter where, just as long as its warm & it gets us out of Wisconsin!

Thanks in advance :)

Re: Budget Caribbean Cruise?

  • Go to Cheap Carribean Cruise.com -- lots of friends of mine went thru that site.
You can try Bing.com which is a new search engine or try Sherman's travles.com...also Kayak.com is good too.

    Good luck.

  • Most caribbean cruises are pretty inexpensive if you go during an off time of year and just book the least inexpensive room {ie June/July are obviously going to be really popular, same as holiday times... popular usually = expensive}. We went on an awesome Caribbean Cruise in April and spent just over 1k for both of us for a balcony room on a high deck. Of course that doesn't include excursions but those are optional if you don't want to spend for them.

Just go directly through the cruise sites to see what type of pricing and destinations they're offering! Carnival or Royal Caribbean are my favorites.  You can absolutely find a cruise AND flight for under $2000!  Cruises are partially all-inclusive.  Your room, food, and some drinks are all included.  Additional prices would be alcohol/soda, port excursions, professional pics, and the spa.  You could definitely find a cruise for under $1500, and then budget the rest of your money for the additional things I mentioned above!

ETA: Carnival will be significantly cheaper then Royal Caribbean!
  • You should have no problem finding a cruise to fit that budget. My first cruise I went during their high season (middle of the summer) and paid $899 a person for an inside room, but my next cruise I went during the off season (early November) and paid $600 a person for a balcony room. Even during their high season, you should be able to fall under budget, but you may have to go for a cheaper room.

Cruises aren't all inclusive, they're "mostly inclusive". They include all meals and on board activities, but alcohol, soda, and shore excursions cost extra. Plus plane tickets and airport transfers to get you back and forth to the ship. I also highly recommend flying in a day early and spending the night in your ship's departure port. Because of flight delays and cancellations, you may miss the ship's departure if you fly in the day of departure. This happened to friends of mine last year, and they had to fly to the first island stop to pick up the ship and missed the first few days on board. So if you fly in a day early, you can relax knowing you'll be able to just walk right on the ship the next day, plus you can enjoy and explore the home port of call.
  • check with cruisesonly.com you can search by dates and see the prices right there. also most cruises only include food and the trip-excursions and drinks are not included.

  • Norwegian has good deals and can definitely be done withn your budget.

  • I booked my cruise for October back in December...and in the middle of May, the price went down.  You can get a price adjustment on most cruise lines if the price of the room (in the selected category) goes down.  If you are looking for something with everything included and an enjoyable, romantic getaway, I would suggest Royal Caribbean (Celebrity is also owned by RCCL).  We are going on a 9-day cruise, leaving from Baltimore, MD, airfare INCLUDED as well as all ground transfers, for $600 a person, originally priced at over $1000 per person.  And make sure you get travel insurance through the cruiseline!  You never know what could happen!
  • We are doing a Carnival Caribbean Cruise to get us out of Wisconsin.  Their prices are very reasonable... and since we don't really drink, we only expect to have the extra costs of 1 or 2 shore excursions.  We got travel insurance too, just incase of delayed flights.
