Hi! I'm at work until 1030 tonight (It's just after 7 here).. I'm tired. Had a bit of a pity party day for myself today, and I'm still all weird about it. Meh.
Nates, I used to think I wanted to teach high school English. Then I realized I had no idea how to manage a classroom with kids taller than me. I even subbed 5th grade and couldn't handle the attitudes. Do you have any students that just don't care? How do you make them interested? Sorry, I have lots of teacher questions.

Berry is now the size of a grape/olive She is also giving me massive morning sickness which makes me happy. Anything that feels like a normal pregnancy is A-ok in my book right now.
Well the vagina discussion is way more interesting than the grading discussion that dominated the first page. But Nates, if you're still interested - I teach Ecosystems & Environmental Science for non-majors. Basically it's an intro to Environmental Biology.
Nates and Jenny - why do you guys keep blinding me with your gorgeousness in these new sig pics?!
Sometimes I can't have sex.. because when DH listens in bed to medical lectures about veins and arteries my vag goes on automatic dry-up & lock-down for at least 6 hours.
I've been feeling super sensitive today. I don't know. I think I'm just stressed. Money's tight, and work sucks.. I'm feeling very "woe is me", my life sucks, etc, etc...

It's hard. Luckily, I work in a really good district in terms of students (as in, no gangs, limited drugs, etc). That helps. The issue I face is apathy and entitlement. I've found that once my kids realize I will enforce limits, they straighten up. Some still fail due to sheer laziness or lack of motivation, but I try to talk as much sense into them as I can. It also helps that I have a reputation in school now. My first few years were rough--one year I had a kid two years younger than me in class!
KW - My friend told us she was pregnant when her baby was the size of an Olive. The baby is now 1 and a half and we still call her Olive!! Also glad you're embracing the morning sickness - go baby go!!

Yeah, that makes sense. That must have been weird being onlly 2 yrs older than a student! I guess it all depends on the group you have. I can get a class full of 6 yr olds to pay attention to me, but I'd be lost in a room full of teenagers. Of course, I also spend half my day reminding them how to follow directions, so every age has their ups and downs I suppose

CCF, I know it's rough. YOu will definitely make it through. But take time and mope, drink, punch something--whatever makes you feel better.
