Any NYE brides?

We're getting married 12/31/2010 in Cincinnati, and I was just wondering if there are any other NYE brides out there that may have some ideas as to where 150-200 people can go!

We thought about renting out an entire bar... but is that tacky? I don't really think it is, although it is a formal wedding, but a friend of mine said she thought it was. I think it depends on the type of bar you rent out...

Are you asking for a place to hold your reception, or a place for people to go after your reception to ring in the new year?

I have been to a NYE wedding before and the couple had the reception last until 1:00 a.m. and had a champagne toast at midnight.  If you're going to do a NYE wedding, I would recommend doing the same thing, and holding the reception so it lasts past midnight.  There a lot of reception halls that are available on NYE to rent.

A place to hold my reception and keep the NY celebration there.. something that we would actually rent until 2-3AM so people could party party and get their new years fun in without having to go elsewhere (driving after midnight on NYE is much less safe!).

My only aversion to traditional reception venues is that I'm not having a sit down dinner so I wanted something smaller, a bit more intimate, where people would mostly be standing, sitting at bistro tables, or dancing!

I'm having my reception at Music hall which may be a little big for 150 people but for our cocktail hour we are having a lounge type feeling.  We are going to rent lounge furniture and do it that way.  I thought that it would be out of my price range but it's actually very reasonable if you get a package deal. I'm a strong believer that you can change any venue into what you envision for your reception.
