I just checked in some parents travelling with their daughter and her boyfriend. He was staying with them in a double bed room, so I'm assuming he was going to sleep with the daughter.

Would your parents have been cool with that?

FI and I have lived together for 4 years, I think my mom is still in denial that we share a bed.

I did have a hs boyfriend sleep over after a school dance (he lived far away). He slept downstairs on the couch though.

No way. We're 26 and 29 and getting married in 3 months, plus we own a house and have lived together for years. Even so, there's no way my parents would be ok with us all sleeping in a hotel room together.

Definitely not. When FI and I had my son (so there was no question we had already had sex) they STILL wouldn't let us sleep in the same room together.

I would guess that since it's a double room my parents wouldn't really be worried because it's pretty obvious nothing is going to happen with them in a bed right next to us...

When FI and I were in a LDR, I was living with my mom, which was four hours away from where he was living. So the first time he came to visit for the weekend, I sat both my parents down and asked them how they felt about us staying in my room. They were kind of surprised that I asked, they didn't expect us to sleep seperately.

This is what I think would be the most awkward part. DH's parents would be ok with it (and we've done it once, when we took an emergency trip to Vandy), but mine would never have been. I just think there's something awkward about it.

Hmm. We never pushed the issue--whenever he stayed over we had an extra bed, and he slept in it. We never traveled together except to visit his parents, and slept wherever beds were available, sometimes together and sometimes not.

My mom wouldn't let us sleep in the same bed in her house, and I'm not entirely sure that will change when we get married. And there's no way that any of us would be okay with all being in the same room.

My mom didn't mind stuff like that after I was 19 or so, but at my grandparents house H and I couldn't sleep in the same room until we were married. And although we lived together for about 8 months before getting married, we always joked with H's parent's that he slept on the couch that whole time. I think it was easier for them to continue the joke than think about us living together in the real way.

When I was 16 I went on a week long vacation with my boyfriend and his parents. I shared a bed with his mom and he shared a bed with his dad.

If that wound up being the case, I would make an issue of it. But I think it would just be really weird for my mom, and that she might initially be against it. Hard to say, as it may never even come up since she lives on the other side of the country, but she asked my permission to have her boyfriend stay over while I was visiting a few years ago.

So for about the last 2 years we've done that. We don't have sex in their homes out of respect. Also, we sleep on a pull out couch in the sun room at his parents' house and my old, full-size bed which is really too short at my mom's. </div>

It gets better. Our flight home was canceled, so we couldn't fly out until the next day, but our luggage had already gone and we couldn't get it back. So the last night I had to share a bed with his mom...while we wore TOGAS made from sheets swiped from the maid cart because we didn't have anything else.

And hers? Fell off.

I voted no but when when we traveled from Alaska to Arizona with my parents in their 5th wheel (it was very large) T and I shared a bed and they seemed ok with that. Then again, even a big 5th wheel is still small

FI's parents let us sleep in the same bed at our house, but we have to pretend I sleep on the couch if anyone in the family asks. The family is also under the impression that we have two beds in our one-bedroom apartment.

Once I hit college? Yes. I think my parents just gave up the denial stage at that point.

This is what my parents did too. Actually, once we were engaged my parents begrudgingly allowed us to. My parents never allowed it in my previous relationships...and honestly, the guy's parents didn't allow it either.

My parents would totally have done the "BF sleeps in bed with dad" kind of thing. They'd pay for another room though--I can't imagine 4 in one room unless it was some kind of travel emergency or something.

Oh, and I should say that this was an issue when I got engaged at 28. My parents are very traditional. My dad may or may not have said "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" when we moved in together.
