A lot of kids don't walk until they're around a year old, so I'd say yes.

I would go ahead and block her status updates. She'll have no idea that you've done that. I've had to do that with some WWers that talk about their dogs too much.

Just do it. Whether or not these are facebook-worthy milestones or not isn't really the issue. It's obviously bothering you, and there's no shame in walking away until you're better able to deal with it. She doesn't have to know she's blocked, and you don't have to stop contact entirely.

Agreed. They are noteworthy, but not unheard of (esp. the ball thing). My kids were early walkers, but neither really talked much until about 18m (way late).

Anyway, yes. Just hide her updates.

Ditto, 18m is well within normal. I side-eyed BFF so. hard. when she hired a speech therapist for her 18m-old. A 3-y-o, I might worry. 18m? Not so much.

18-months isn't necessarily late, but it is on the late end of normal, I think. My DD didn't say too much until she was 2. She is now almost 30 months and she just started saying a few complete sentences. But she excels in other areas so it's certainly nothing to worry about.

Is anyone else picturing Bay Watch when they read "slow run"???

18m is late to have no words. Minimum for that age is 2-3 words. I think Dex had about 4 words at 17m2.5w and somehow had the word assplosion and had 42 words at 18m. Dex is 31m now and won't shut up with his complete sentences.

Desmond is now 17m1w and has four words. But he's much more verbal and communicative in general, and we're expecting the word explosion soon.

We are considering speech therapy for Dex, becuase he's still very hard to understand, even for us sometimes, to the point that there may be an issue. But it's more about nipping it in the bud vs his having to be in speech therapy for the first half of grammar school (like H was - he thinks that's perfectly normal and fine).
