Garter toss

I hope this is in the right place. I have never really thought about this before now, but for you ladies doing a garter toss with a "toss garter," how will you have them on your leg? Will you be wearing just the one garter during the ceremony/first part of reception, and then sneaking off to place the toss garter underneath just before hand? Both the entire time? Neither?

I think the idea is that you wear both, and only remove one for the toss. Or, if you don't want your new husband digging around underneath your skirt in front of the world, you could just wear the one you will keep, and put the "tossing" garter underneath your chair or something.

I'm not doing this myself, but when a friend recently got married, she wore both the whole time, with the toss garter lower on her leg than the keeper garter.

I didn't wear any garters during the day because it was a super hot and humid day and I didn't want anything extra around my legs. I also didn't want H to have to take off a gross and sweaty garter and then have another guy have to catch said sweaty garter.

I kept the "keepsake" garter at home and snuck off to put on the toss garter right before the garter toss.

I wore the keepsake garter on my left leg because that worked better with the way my dress fell over it that it didn't show through the dress. (My dress wasn't poofy and didn't camouflage the garter well!) I was shy about having the groom going up under my dress to take it off me in front of people so we kept the toss garter in my mother's bag and the groom discreetly retrieved it before the garter toss.

My MOH and I snuck off right before the toss and she put it on me. It was too uncomfortable to wear the whole time. Her putting it on me resulted in an awesome picture though because of the freaked out look on my face.

So......question. Do you wear both garters on the same leg? Does it feel weird to only have garters on one leg?

I think I am planning on wearing the keepsake garter and have him take it off (not with his teeth!) Then I am going to have my MOH sneak in and switch it out with him for the tosser garter (that I did not wear). I think it is kind of weird to have some guy friend or guy relative touching something that was up on my thigh. And I don't mind my groom touching something that may be a tad sweaty, but I don't want another touching something that is sweaty from me.
