What is everyone getting their FI for Valentine's?

I am stumped on what to get my FI for Valentines. He has been so wonderful dealing with me freaking out about everything for this wedding and everything else we have had going on. I want to do something super nice but no ideas.

  • I got him a card- it was free.
The wedding is my gift to him and so is my savings account. So, free card it was!
But, its got some cute pictures of us in it and I will write something nice to him.
He is taking me out to a fancy dinner. :)

  • I am REALLY struggling with this as well!! I am thinking I will get him a card and make him a special dinner. Other than that.... no idea...

  • We'll probably just do cards this year and make a nice dinner in or maybe go out.
  • I am thinking about getting him this hard wood plaque kind of thing for his "man cave".  It has all of the new england sports teams on it.  He is currently decorating it with all of his sports memoribelia.

  • FI's birthday is the day before so we don't do anything too big for Valentine's Day.  I will at least get him a card and then we'll go to dinner at IHOP

  • I got him a card and I may buy al the ingredients for dinner and attempt to cook.  I also may just wait until he gets home so we can do it together.

Open up a bottle of wine and enjoy eachother's company.

  • I know he wants a new wallet and briefcase. So I will probably do both of those things and then get him a gag gift. I know what kind of wallet he wants I am just not sure about the briefcase. He is planning on getting a new laptop soon and right now he has the 17 inch Mac so I am not sure if plans to keep that size or go smaller. I may just wait on the briefcase until after.

He order me something that he wasn't sure was going to get here in time. He said he ordered it early and they hadn't shipped or taken the money out. I do know he is taking me to Flemings for dinner though.
  • We are not big on Valentines Day.
However, every year we do a nice dinner at home like a nice steak and nice bottle of wine. Also, the first year FI and I started dating I made him heart sugar cookies and now he thinks I have to make them every year. I made a huge batch this weekend. :)
  • We are not big on Valentine's Day. So we signed up for a romantic cooking class that also pairs wines with each course. Just something fun to try together.

and chocolate covered strawberries and we are going to enjoy a quiet evening at home.

We can't afford to do anything else because of the wedding, but I am excited because I will be trying out a new recipe and he loves enchiladas!

  • We agreed on a card-only/$5 limit this year.  What I'm doing is getting a deck of cards and writing a reason why I love him on each card.  Hey, we said cards right?  We didn't specify which kind :)
  • We are going to make dinner together and then probably just cuddle on the couch and watch a movie or something.

  • We are HUGE Valentine's day fans! For the last 4 years I always make sure I have the night off work and make lasagna for us for dinner. Each year it is a different kind. Since we got engaged on Feb 11 and Valentine's Day is the 14. This year was going to be grand. But then we realized that it is FI Dad's birthday (60!) and instead of buying each other gifts we bought his dad his first new laptop. He usually alwyas get hand-me-downs from other people in the family and has been slowly saving money, but yesterday we surprised him with an early gift! He was flloored and deserved every bit of it!

So this year will just be lasagna, Matt and I. He never saw Tarzan so we will watch that too!
  • We're not doing anything major with the wedding come up; probably just cards and FI has to make me dinner. I cook 95% of the time; so its nice to switch it up.

  • We haven't really talked about it, but I want to go see The Vow in the movie theater so maybe we'll do dinner and a movie. We really only do gifts on birthdays so I think I'll just get him a card.

  • We agreed to do small gifts this year so that we can save for the wedding and whatnot. I got him two snoopy coasters from Cafe Press that are snoopy sleeping on a heart. He's a huge Peanuts fan so i know he'll like it :)

  • Well I thought we were just going to have a relaxing movie night and home cooked meal at his apartment, but he already bought me this adorable snowglobe and said something is coming to me on Friday.

So I'm probably going to buy him some of his favorite candy and make him something to keep down on costs.
  • I got mine an OtterBox (he has been wanting) and a bluetooth for his phone.  We have to drive to see each other, and handsfree is so much safer!!  Not terribly romantic - but practical.  AND I really splurged for him on Christmas....he got a really nice CANNON DSLR camera!

  • We usually just get each other something small. I'll get him a new wallet, a card, and some chocolates. We might be able to go out to dinner, but it wouldn't be until about 8pm if we do. If not, we'll go out together another night.

  • This helps so much! The past 6 weeks have been so expensive so I think I am going to do a nice dinner at home and get him something small. He keeps mentioning needing a new pair of flip flops so I may do that.
  • We are not big into valentines day. We may go out to eat, but we usually cook a dinner we can make together. No cards or gifts.
  • We are going out to dinner. but I don't know what I am getting him yet.  I better figure it out!
    Anniversary
  • We have mutually decided to forgo the Valentine's Day presents and put the money toward the wedding bands.  Cards will be exchanged and he said I'd still get roses!
  • I would say that we will just skip Valentine's day because we are saving for the wedding but I pulled that card for Christmas so I think I need to get him a little something at least.

We'll probably make a fancy dinner, buy the new Twilight movie and maybe have a fun random date on the weekend.

  • I bought a bunch of stuff from a Pure Romance party so I told FI that would double as his gift this year. We will also go out to dinner, probably on Monday night, we aren't fans of crowds.

I love flowers, but I refuse to pay the jacked up prices for v-day. I have him buy me flowers for my birthday in December. :)

  • I'm making carrot cake (his favorite) for the 4th V-Day in a row.  It's kind of a tradition now, and I think he would be really disappointed if I didn't. Smile
  • We made it tradition to go to a steak house.  We ended up using a gift card we got for that place on our dating anniversary.

Our venue offers a complimentary dinner at their sister restaurant since they don't do tastings.  We already made our reservation to go on the 16th.  We will also do cards so it will be cheap, but we will still celebrate.
