Party Invite Wording

Hello!  I am from a different state than I am getting married in and a lot of my parents' friends want to celebrate with us but don't want to come to the wedding.  So my mom wants to have a party after the wedding in my hometown (everyone loves the idea, just in case you are thinking people will get offended because they weren't invited to the wedding or something).  My question is... how do I word the invitation?  I don't know whether to call it a reception or party or what.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    The wording depends on how formal you want it to be.  Is it going to be a sit down dinner with dancing, or a backyard bbq type of party?  The most formal wording would mirror that of the wedding invitation, "Hosts request the pleasure of your company at a reception celebrating the marriage of SS and FI."

    We live in Colorado, got married in Illinois (where husband is from) and I am from Minnesota!  So, this month (we were married June 19th) our friend is having the "Vail Celebration" of our wedding.  We are keeping it very casual....it is at my resort's lounge.

    This way, everyone can stop by, have a drink and an appetizer, and just say a little hello!  I would call it the (town where the party is) and then Celebration! :)
