Shoes' post got me thinking. What's your go-to daily hairstyle?
My hair is naturally wavy/curly, and between shoulder and boob length with side bangs. It's kind of a disaster, actually (well, I think so, most other people think it's oh so pretty when it's curly), so I straighten it on a very regular basis. Lately, I've been trying to give the flat iron a break, so I've been wearing it natural, and just scrunching with mousse when it's partially dry, and then if I have a chance, curling the odd chunk that refuses to curl on it's own. I call this my "pouffy lion look", but it's not exactly fierce.
So, what's your daily hairstyle? I always envy people who have gorgeous hair every single day (either naturally, or with a bit of work styling in the AM), which I'm sure some of you have.

The furstrating thing for me is that curls hide alot of detail in the actual hair cut and I don't have "strong" curls so I can't grow my hair really long or they get weighed down too much. My sister jokes that I've had the same hairstyle for 15 years, if you straighten it it isn't the same, but when it's a curly mess you can't really tell and it looks the same.

My hair has a natural wave and can be beautiful down but it gets in my way so I never wear it down.
Here it is down I like it but it just gets in the way the over the shoulder is so you can see how long it it
I am really jealous of you girls with curls my hair curls after being wet but it is so heavy it only stays for maybe an hour

ETA: Most days, I wear my hair straight, since that's how it is naturally. But I do like to change it up, so I usually get some layers in my bob so it looks good wavy or straight
have you tried to do much with braids? I saw some really beautiful/simple styles where they used a loose braid in the front, almost like a headband. my hair is way too curly for that, but I just love that style!
also, do you ever use a clarifying shampoo? it helps to make my curls springy again when they start to get weighed down with product and shampoo/conditioner. that might help give an appearance of "stronger" curls.
But I am so jealous of people who can pull off bobs. I love bobs. My BFF has one and I want it

[QUOTE]Beads - My diffuser is my best friend. I, too, had straight hair until puberty. I didn't even think about my hair changing if/when I get pregnant. Man, I'm not looking forward to that. It's taken me years to get this comfortable with it, finding products for weak curly hair is a challenge.

so true!!
out of curiousity, what products do you use?
for me:
daily: TIGI Curls Rock CatWalk curl creme, John Frieda Frizz-Ease X-Strength serum, Pantene Pro-V curly hair mousse, John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm-Hold hairspray
weekly: Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment, Neutrogena Clarifying shampoo, pure olive oil

Sounds like my routine! Almost identical, in fact, except the brands/products are different. I use the same clarifying shampoo though heh.

[QUOTE]Bella - Holy crap your hair used to be straight?! Wow! That is a major change! My BF also has the most beautiful curls! He's getting a cut tonight, and I'm really excited. He has extremely nice hair, it's just wayy over grown. I really hope my kids get nice, curly hair as well. We'll have to see... And I've never done much with braids - I just can't get them right. I agree, they can look really nice. I know exactly what you're talking about with the headband type thing, but I'm not that talented. And yes, I use a clarifying shampoo once per week a couple of days after deep conditioning. It makes a huge difference! Hazel - Yes, the diffuser and I have a great relationship! It makes my hair look much fuller, although I think it curls more evenly when it air dries, so I don't use it every day. What do you use in your hair, may I ask? I attempt new things all the time, and while I'm OK with my current routine, it's a very small amount of a lot of different products, so it's super annoying!

it was so straight when I was a child that I would sleep in those sponge rollers and the curls would fall out in a matter of minutes!! I have no idea what happened but I'm happy with my hair now (the majority of the time).
my FI cut his hair off, and I really miss his overgrown mop of curls. :(
edit: to show straight hair! :)

It's sort of wavy, sort of straight with a flippy outty thing at the bottom. I usually run a flat iron (on med heat) over it quickly in the AM to tame it.

Murried Bio
Except the times in middle and highschool when I died it pink, blue, orange, red, or purple, my hair has been straight and blonde my entire life.
My senior year in highschool was when I chopped it from past-waist length to shoulder length, and it's been that way these past couple years.
I really miss my long hair.
[QUOTE]I have really fine hair that is super straight and will not hold a curl. After the wedding I will most likely cut it into a bob but right now I am growing it out so I just let it dry naturally and usually pull it back into a pony tail or bun.

Ditto that. I don't have the face for a bob though. So, it's been on and off with the layers and weird styles since I was 8. I'm trying to grow it out, which with super thin fine hair is probably not the best idea. Which means that I'm due for another super-expensive hair cut with one of the designers at the school I go to. I have no idea what looks good on me either, which makes it twice as difficult. I might get it done in the next few weeks. We'll see.
Still here and still fabulous!
I also used to have super straight hair. Now it has a funky wave, and I'd rather it be straight.
For routine, I wash it every other day with Aveda shampoo and Pureology conditioner. I also use Redken CAT a few times a week on my hairdresser's advice to counteract the coloring damage. She also buys this stuff for me at discount, so I have salon-size bottles that last for months. I only blowdry it when I absolutely have to. And if we're going out, I'll flatiron it and curl the ends with the flatiron.

I get upset when my FI cuts his hair, too. It's not curly, but it's shiny and thick and he looks like one of the Beatles when it gets long. It makes me *swoon*.
To answer the OP, no matter how much time I've spent blow-drying or straightening my hair, I always end up pulling it back into a low, messy ponytail within a few hours. If I ever leave the house without a hairband on my wrist, I feel naked.

FI's long, curly hair also makes me *swoon*. it's really hot, especially when he has a little scruff. eeeeeee!
he cuts it off during the summer though, and grows it out during the fall/winter for me. he says it's too hot in the summer. :(
I do this all the time. I really need to get out of that rut, but it's great for long hair.
