Wedding Woes

2 random things

1. When I see someone call Cant_Wait, CW, I think of the CW network. And somehow it's appropriate. Our own board fetus probably relates well to all that, plus I figure that people who love Twilight love all things CW.

2. This is hard for me to share and I won't even tell DH. I weigh over 200 pounds now. I know that it's all for good, but I can't help but think of how disgusting I am for weighing that much. My average for so many years was 60 pounds less than that but a combination of lack of exercise and eating on the road over the last few years really packed on the pounds. Add on pregnancy...and I just feel like someone should put me in a circus sideshow.

Complain all you want about the hassles of being pregnant, but it's a number on a scale and it includes a baby, so get over it.

maybe you are one of those who should diet while pregnant.  let us know how that works out for you.

agreed. My peak pregnancy weight was 230.  I'm 5'10", and a lot of it was belly (plus, certainly, some swelling).

Still, I will admit to feeling giant and VERY heavy.

In a related note, I have REALLY been enjoying taking the stairs to my third-floor office since I got back to work.  No way was I slugging up even 2 flights with that giant belly, but now I feel like a little sprite, even though I have another 25 or 30 pounds to get to any kind of real goal weight.

    WOW, zsa.

FWIW PMeg, I got really, really, really close to that number.  I cringed when the nurse who weighed me announced it in front of DH, because at that point I was actually heavier than he was.

It's none of my beeswax whether you BF or not, but in my case, when I did, I lost all that and then some within weeks.  So take comfort in the fact that it's only temporary.

I know it's temporary, I know it's a number. I actually eat pretty good most days but that doesn't negate the fact that when you see the number climb at every visit it shocks you a little. I almost never weighed myself before getting pregnant, I'd go on how I felt and how my clothes fit. I knew beforehand that I wasn't at a great weight for me personally, but when I got knocked up, I wasn't about to start dieting and working out like crazy.

Would it make you feel better to know that I am not carrying a child and weigh 230? PMeg can never be less than awesome, so there's always that.

I felt the same way.  The rational side knows why and all, but the irrational side thinks it's a bummer.

And it's still pretty exciting to see the scale drop afterward, even though you know it's baby/placenta/fluid.

I'm sure BFing helps, but I had similar BFing experiences with Dex & Des - never did get rid of the last 15 pounds of Dex weight but dropped my Des weight and then some like magic.  It was weird.

i topped 2 bills (210, i think was the final number) with Miles.

but, i did lose about 25 lbs in the course of 29 hours of labor (including baby).  so that made me feel a bit better.

CW does air America's Next Top Model, so I do love it. That's pretty much all it gives me, though.
