What Music are/did you use?

My homework this week from my dj is to get all my music together. I got some while others I am stuck on. I have found things like this very helpful while planning so let us know what songs you are using for your wedding. Did you play the words or just instrumental for your ceremony music?

Ceremony is a string quartet, so all instrumental
    Prelude: Across the Universe (Beatles)
Seating of Mothers/Grandparents: In My Life (Beatles)
    Precesional: I Will (Beatles)
Bridal Entrance:  Canon in D (Pachelbel)
    Interlude: not having one?
Recessional: All You Need is Love (Beatles)
    Postlude: She Loves You (Beatles)
so we like the Beatles, as it turns out.

First Dance: Fly Me to The Moon (Frank Sinatra)
Mother Son Dance/Father Daughter Dance: shared dance, I Hope You Dance (Lee Ann Womack)
Cake Cutting: When I'm Sixty-Four (Beatles)
    Bouquet Toss: Single Ladies (Beyonce)
Garter Removal: Brick House (Commodores) for the removal, Another One Bites the Dust (Queen) for throwing
    Last Dance: Breathe (Faith Hill)

Our ceremony music will be played by a harpist, so no words.

    Prelude: Musician's Choices
Procesional:  Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring- family, Canon in D- bridal party
    Bridal Entrance:  Bridal March
Interlude: Unity Candle Lighting - The Lord's Prayer
    Recessional: Wedding March
    Postlude: ?

Not 100% sure on these yet, we are meeting with our DJ on Wednesday so I'm sitting here trying to decide too.

First Dance: This Magic Moment by the Drifters...maybe.
Mother Son Dance/Father Daughter Dance: don't know if we are doing this...
Cake Cutting: I was thinking about How Sweet it Is like Stephie used.
Bouquet Toss: Don't Stop Believing - Journey
    Garter Removal/Toss: Fever- Peggy Lee
Last Dance:  Everyone:  FI wants to do Beat It by MJ.  I was thinking Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi.   Our private last dance....I think We Danced by Brad Paisley...

FI is insistent on getting the Rainbow Connection in there somehow too... I'm doing my best to veto that idea.

Prelude/before the ceremony:  music picked by strings.
    Processional:  Canon in D
    Bride:  Trumpet Voluntary
    Interlude/Virgin Mary Tribute:  Ave Maria
    Recessional:  I don't remember....

First Dance:  Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Callait
Mother/Son:  Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion
Father/Daughter:  Father and Daughter by Paul Simon (I started crying when I first heard it....)
Last Dance:  I think the DJ played Celebrate.

I had a huge list of romantic songs that included Elvis' version of Can't Help Falling in Love and also Can't Take My Eyes off of You by Frankie Valli.  The DJ interspersed them during the reception with other songs that he chose.

This is for my daughter's wedding, but I helped her do a lot of the research on the music, she made final decisions:

Prelude:  "Hymn" by Vangelis was the prelude
    Precesional:  "Canon in D"
    Bridal Entrance: same as BMs
Interlude:  "Ave Maria" and "Panis Angelicus" (would have liked to use "You raise me up" or "The Prayer", but the church had restrictions).

    Recessional:
Mendohlsson's "The wedding march"?  (sounded kind of like Masterpiece Theatre)  Would have liked "Spring" by Vivaldi or "A little Night Music by Mozart, but again, the church had restrictions
    Postlude: didn't have one

First Dance:  "This magic Moment" by the Drifters
Mother Son Dance: "Sunshine on my Shoulders" by John Denver
Father Daughter Dance: "Isn't she lovely" by Stevie Wonder", and mother-daughter dance to "Days like this" by Van Morrison
    Cake Cutting:  "Sugar Sugar"
Bouquet Toss: "Pretty woman" or "It's raining me"
Garter Removal:  didn't do one, but we'd put "Too sexy for my shirt..." by Drop Dead Fred, and toss it to "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ top.  The DJ suggested somehing from Ferris Beuhler's Day off, that "oooh yeeah" music.
Last Dance I don't remember which one was actually used, but some that were on her list were "Ain't even done with the night" by John Mellencamp, "Into the Mystic" by Van morrison, or "Then you can tell me Goodbye" by the Casinos.

That is what we used for garter -- "Oh Yeah" by Yello.

We didn't do a big reception, but I can answer the ceremony part:

Prelude: I just told her I wanted something pretty. She played a little Phantom, and some very beautiful hymns and classical pieces.
    Precessional: Canon in D
Bridal Entrance: Same - Canon in D
Interlude: We didn't have an interlude, but during the unity candle she played "When You Say You Love Me" (Josh Groban) we also had a soloist sing that one
Recessional: This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)
    Postlude:
I honestly have no clue whatsoever
