People just get all up in arms about it because they dont like smoking. They dont like the way it smells. Well, i dont like some perfumes, I dont like the way the homeless dude smells, I dont like the way the fast food joint smells, or the way the gelatin factory smells on days they make plain gelatin, but it doesnt hurt me.
Cigarette smoke is only dangerous if its prolonged exposure. Walking past someone smoking is not going to make you sick or give you cancer. People need to stfu about it.

When Fargo went smoke free, lots of bars built smoking areas adjacent to the building. It was outside the building, but yeah, you can go out and smoke out there.
Listen, I know all about the dangers about second-hand smoke. It's serious. But really, most smokers are not all like "I'm going to smoke where I want and you just have to deal with it, fuckahs" they usually just want to have their cig and get back to business, whatever that business is. I think it's very courteous of people to leave to smoke. A friend of ours smokes and he won't smoke in my car. I think people look at smokers a lot of the time as these people who want to kill everyone, lol, and they're not. They just need nicotine, dammit. Poor things already feel like social pariahs enough when they aren't allowed to smoke in public places, but yeah, not being able to have a cigarette on your own property is complete and utter crap.
I'll be the first to say I enjoy a smoke-free bar, but taking away all these rights isn't going to fix anything. It's probably going to clog up the law enforcement agencies and waste more tax-payer money.

AATB- I agree. When they banned it indoors, us smokers were fine with it, and more than happy to go outside. Then you told us we cant be near the door. Ok, fine. Then you told us no public parks and beaches. Ok, fine. Now nowhere at all? Eat my d!ck.
3rd hand smoke is apparently the smoke residue that comes off of your clothes and shiit like that and can also apparently be harmful. It was a big fuss in the news here like... 2 years ago?

We don't smoke in our house, and most of the time we don't smoke in our vehicles (maybe if it's a super long ride). As long as smoking cigarettes is legal, I'm going to smoke on my back porch. If someone else wants to dictate what I do on my property, they can pay my property taxes.

in my opinion, if were getting rid of smoking we should be getting rid of a hell of a lot of other stuff. How about all the wheat in things, that you wouldnt expect wheat to be in? How about the gross amount of sodium in everything. Why is there a sodium content in bottled water? There are a gajillion things that are bad for us out there, people need to chill the fuuck out.
