Need a location!

I have been engaged about a month and have yet to find the right reception location for us.  I'm looking for something that is unique and different.  I just don't like the feel of the traditional reception hall.  So far the only place we looked at was Galleria Marchetti.  It was nice, but I'm afraid it would be a logistical nightmare for our guests. We are also looking around March/April timeframe so it will need to be indoors.  Hoping to find an indoor place with great views.   Any suggestions??? please...i'm getting desperate!

West Grand Studios has a fantastic view!
West Loop and Prairie Productions are great venues as well.

If you're really looking for non-traditional - Catalyst Ranch might fit the bill.

If you're willing to go out of the city, check out Patrick Haley Mansion, Rialto Square Theater, or Union Station in Joliet. They're all very unique, gorgeous places with the ability to do indoor ceremonies.

Who knew Joliet had so much to offer in the way of unique wedding venues?!

It would help if we knew your budget, as there are a ton of non traditional amazing venues out there. So let us know if you want more suggestions.

I think one of the PP meant Salvage One. (might be easier to find this way)

Mine is this April at Salvatore's. It is not your typical place, but not too bad for the city as far as price goes.

We got married at the Private Dining Rooms of Spiaggia.  Very beautiful space with awesome views of Michigan Ave. and the lake.  The food was amazing, and the package is surprisingly inexpensive.

I second Spiaggia.  I almost booked my wedding there as the views were stunning and the planner was very helpful! Other options would be The Tasting Room in the West Loop if your wedding is small or The Signature Room in the Hancock or even the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart for something more economical.

I've just started looking for non-traditional venues too, and a lot of museums offer reception spaces that look amazing.  I also found this contest that the Chicago History Museum is having where they will give you a free wedding! Check it out:

Cafe Brauer. The cost can get high because they make you use their alcohol package and work from a preferred vendor list, but it is absolutely stunning. They also heat the loggia areas in the winter so you can still use them for cocktail hours. If you look on the Life on Prints website and look under planning resources, you can see events that they have photographed at Cafe Brauer.
