Fun post:
I recently discovered I like white wine. I haven't developed a taste for red yet.
So what kinds of wine do you like?

If you don't drink wine, please replace "wine" with "chocolate milk".
Re: All about wine
I'm lactose intolerant.
How do you make your sangria? I've never made it, but I'm fairly sure it just involves putting fruit into your wine and letting it sit for a while. Everyone seems to love it! I just haven't got around to making it before.
Funny story involving wine, please: I don't have anything really funny, but my team at work did a Christmas wine exchange where we each drew a name and dressed up the bottle like that person, then we all had to guess who the bottle was for. It was pretty fun, and the person who did my bottle did really well (not to mention, I really liked the wine I got - Sibling Rivalry White, I highly recommend it).
Life is good today.
[QUOTE]I am not a fan of wine at all, however, I LOVE me some Sangria!! I use a recipe I found on allrecipes.com. Es esto: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sangria-Sangria/Detail.aspx I'm lactose intolerant.

You can talk about anything you like to drink at all, because you're special <3
Sea, I don't think the kind that my friend made had any lemon or lime in it... I'll have to check with her for you.

Funny story involving wine, please: Most of my wine stories involve fuzzy memories but here's one:
Oh. And I had two bottles of sparkling wine on my bed waiting for me when I got home. Thanks, boys.

SO....
So what kinds of Chocolate Milk do you like?
I love chocolate soy milk.
How do you make your Chocolate milk?
I buy it pre-made and pour it in the glass. VOILA!
Funny story involving Chocolate milk, please:
In kindergarten, I got in trouble for poking a hole in the bottom corner of my milk carton and sucking the milk out the bottom. A lot of the kids did it, and we had recently been told not to. The teacher made me go to the principal's office, but I was scared and crying so hard he couldn't discipline me. He called me into his office the next day and gave me a balloon for being good.
Reds: Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Savignon, Malbec, Shiraz, but Rioja is my favorite
White: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Albarino
Desert wines: Port, Sherry, Late Harvest whites.
How do you make your sangria?
From the recipe of my favorite bar in Sevilla:
1 bottle of Rioja
2 cups of brandy (I like cherry brandy, but whatever you want - flavored vodka works well, too)
1 cup of sugar
1 orange
1 lime
Bottle of 7-Up (optional)
Chopped apples, pears, peaches, or strawberries
Slice the lime and orange into circles. Soak all the fruit in the brandy or vodka with the sugar. Let sit several hours, or overnight. Add the red wine. You can add the 7-Up if you want to, but only right before serving to taste (you won't need the whole bottle, but I love the bubbles in my sangria).

BF was stressed out and klutzy yesterday. I came home to find that he had broken two dishes while putting away the dishwasher, cracked a glass by bumping it against the wall, and accidentally knocked over one of my hurricane jars that hold candles in our mock-fireplace and had to sweep up the glass shards.
Needless to say, it was a messy day for him, and he didn't need me to get mad about it all since he was already pissed at himself! So I laughed at it, and asked him to sit on the couch and let me prepare dinner so he didn't break anything valuable. And he goes, "I know, I don't want to break any of your nice dishes." I said, "No, I can deal with the dishes. I'm afraid the next thing you'll break is YOU, and I can't deal with you being broken!" It made him laugh and loosen up a bit, since he was a bit high strung (I swear I'm getting to the wine bit).
So I went in the kitchen to cook dinner, and started to pour him a bottle of wine, and it slipped out of my hand and crashed on the ground, showering the floor with glass and red wine everywhere. A whole 3 seconds went by where we were both silent and just staring at each other, and then we both burst into laughing/crying fits. It was pretty funny, and we decided that we needed to go to sleep for the night before we hurt ourselves.

How do you make your sangria?
Haven't ever made any, but if I have wine that is too dry for my taste buds then I add cranberry juice which makes it very yummy.

While I was in France we went to a winery at 11am.The owner gave us some olive bread that we could snack on while we were wine tasting, but we were all pretty hungry. By the end, Gaye, our french teacher was taking pictures of her fingernails and skipping as we walked to the nearest bus stop. Everyone ended up taking a three hour nap before dinner. Here is one of the girls in a bookcase after we got back.
1 bottle red wine (merlot or cab sav is best, IMO)
Peach schnapps
Peach vodka
Diced peach
Sugar
Club soda (optional)
Soak the peaches in the schnapps and vodka with sugar. Add the wine, and as much club soda as you want.
I generally tend towards wines from Chile because they are usually a bit sweeter, and are a bit easier on my wallet. This is a Savingon Blanc from Lapostolle that I like, it goes for about $13.
I grew up in the Finger Lakes region, so I like to buy from there. Though I have to say, I'm not sure how easy these would be to find outside of New York state. At any rate, two Rieslings that I like from the Finger Lake region are by Salmon Run and Hosmer. They both go for about $13 as well (can you tell my price point by now? lol)
Edit: I forgot my (white wine) sangria recipie. I stole it from About.com, but I've served it a number of times and it's always a hit

No, seriously, I don't measure. I do it by taste - schnapps tastes better than vodka, so I do a bit more schnapps, but it'll be sicky sweet if you don't add the vodka (in my opinion). So probably 1/4 cup of vodka, 1/2 cup of schnapps? You can play around with it, and you can always add more after you blend it. The soaking with the fruit is to mellow out the taste of the alcohol in the fruit - you end up with little alcoholic delicious bites of peach floating in your cup.
So what kinds of wine do you like?
Any kind of Moscato d'Asti (Sparkling White Wine) it's the only wine I'll drink.
How do you make your sangria?
If you haven't tried Sake Sangria (White) you absolutely HAVE to! I just tried it last week for the first time and loved it.
I haven't made it yet but however they make it at RA Sushi it delicious!

Ummm...I actually don't think I have one. If I think of something I'll come back to this post.
Pretty much any white as long as it's not oaky... ick. Sweet reds/roses, too. And I mean super sweet, like muscadine.
How do you make your sangria?
Mmmm, sangria... Olive Garden's is the best, though Ruby Tuesday makes some good ones, too. If I buy a red that's not sweet enough to drink straight, I'll make 'sangria' by mixing it with whatever juice I've got around. I've tried it with orange tangerine and with white grape.

There was another time that he went to use the bathroom but someone was already in it, with the door open. He came out all sad that someone was on the pot, but his willy was hanging out for the whole party to see! He didn't notice until I started shrieking about it haha. I guess I do have some funny wine stories.
I also only tried reisling because BF's Mom loves it. I wanted to be a suck up.

Honestly, I just started liking wine about two months ago. Before that, I hated it.
My friend made me sangria with white wine and I loved it. After that, I just tried a random white wine and found that I liked it. Once you like one, it's easier to branch out and I like it more the more I drink it.
What I like: I started out liking whites as well... Riesling and Gewertztraminer being the favorites. Now I also enjoy Pinot Grigio and know that I wholeheartedly detest Chardonnay (it's interesting that no one listed that as one of their favorites). My hands-down favorite Riesling was one I tried at Emeril's restaurant in the MGM Grand in Vegas - Monchoff. I was able to find it a few years ago for about $16 but haven't seen it since.
In the last year or two I've started enjoying reds as well. This weekend we had an awesome blend - Merlot, Malbec and Shiraz. It was so tasty. Usually I find reds too dry for my taste, but that one was nice and light with a little fruitiness. It was called Fleur de Lyeth for anyonoe that wants to try it.
Sangria: I like to drink it, but have never made it.
Funny wine story: They all seem funny at the time but right now, the best ones are escaping me. I seem to remember one afternoon where I had a glass of wine at lunch, then had another, and another, and ended up ditching work for the rest of the day and ended up running into my boss at a bar at 7pm. Luckily he was a raging alcoholic, so he didn't care that I'd gone AWOL to drink. Good times in NOLA.
Still here and still fabulous!
I love all red wine with the exception of Merlot.

I make sangria my friends loooove and rave about. EVERY time I make it, people ask me for the recipe. It's simple.
1 bottle red wine
1 cup peach schnapps
1 cup triple sec
1/3 bottle of juice (love the V8 fruit blends for this)
Various fruits, cut up (strawberries, apples, oranges, etc)
Put everything into a pitcher and serve over ice with a dash of cinnamon on top. You can adjust the measurements to your personal taste. If you don't like peach, use cherry schnapps instead.
If you want to make a large batch (which is what I usually do), here are the proportions:
3 large bottles red wine (1.5 litres, I use Concha y Toro merlot/cabernet blend; it's inexpensive and great for sangria)
1 750 ml bottle peach schnapps
1 750 ml bottle triple sec
1 whole bottle juice
Same directions as above. This makes a LOT of sangria! I made this for a bachelorette party and we drank it by the pool all day and into the early evening.
I don't really have any funny wine stories except that I received a total of 12 wine glasses for Christmas; tells you how much I like wine!
