Groomsmen tuxedo question

My fiance wants to wear his Dress Blues for the wedding (which he has yet to order...) so I was wondering if he is in uniform what do I do with his attendants? I was told to just get them regular black tuxedos but it looks like he will have one male and one female attendant so that won't work.

Do I just ignore that his uniform is blue and put them both in black?

I am entirely unfamiliar with all things military so I am probably making this harder than it needs to be!

Re: Groomsmen tuxedo question

  • I would put them both in black.  The female attendant can wear a black dress.  The military uniform does not have to complement the colors of the wedding, so this is not something you need to worry about.

  • I agree with PP - put both of his attendants in black.  I had friends get married two years ago and the bride's brother was her "Man of Honor" and the groom had a "Groomswoman".  The bride's brother had the same tux as the GM, but the "Groomswoman" had the opposite as the bridesmaids.  The BMs had a maroon dress with a flair of black at the bottom.  The Groomswoman had the same dress but in black with a flair of maroon at the bottom.  It looked beautiful and they were still coordinated.
