Its 9:27, where's the morning thread?

  • We're heading off to see the Avengers. Hopefully we'll be able to spend the afternoon relaxing. I am really looking forward to an uneventful weekend.

  • Have fun at the movies! I'm surprised H doesnt want to see the Avengers, so I guess it will be on the rental list.

    Relax for me!

[QUOTE]Morning. We're going to go see Prometheus today and do some yardwork if we have time.  We have a bday dinner for a friend this evening.

Tell me what you think of it Duds, that is one I want to see.

H is flying out tomorrow, so I have to get the laundry done. And I really need to steam the floors.

  • The Avengers is very good; we enjoyed it.

I'm just having some coffee and surfing while I decide what to do.  DH is OOT, but I have some projects I want to get done, plus cleaning up the debris in the yard and assessing the damage to my new garden.  I'm hoping most of the plants will recover, but their leafless, blossom-less stalks are so pitiful.

Sorry Les, that has to suck. Hope you can save some of them at least.

  • Morning!

The Avengers is really good, celtic! We are taking my parents out to dinner and to see a movie (either MIB 3 or Snow White and the Huntsmen, haven't decided for sure yet) tonight just to say thank you for all they've done for us this year.   Other than that, if my leg is feeling ok later I need to drag myself to the gym.

I got an e-mail yesterday that the state finally approved the funding to hire me! This was supposed to happen in early May but kept getting pushed back due to some red tape.  Now I just have to wait for the temp agency to negotiate a contract and I can start for real.  I feel like I've been waiting forever.
    image
  • I'd actually rather see Prometheus than Avengers but I usually avoid movies opening weekend. I am really excited for that movie though and i am sure we'll see it in the next few weeks.

  • Morning. I got up early to help H work and now itt's raining. I should have just slept in.

We just got back from the store and I bought like 500 different types of cat food since Whisky won't eat. So far, the liver-flavored one seems to be working. He didn't eat much, but it's better than nothing at all.

I don't want to see Prometheus because they got my hopes up. I thought it would be about the god, not aliens. Now I'm just mad at the moviemakers for being misleading.
  • That's good news, LP.  Congrats!

Sesh - I finished the Derby.  LOVED it.  You're an awesome storyteller and gifted writer.
    imageFollow Me on Pinterest
  • Aww Sesh, I hope Whisky is ok!
    image
  • Thank you, les! I'm glad you didn't think it was stupid or pointless, which is what I worry about.

And thanks, LP. I can't decide if he's being stubborn and picky or if a trip to the vet is in order. I'm going to give him his B12 shot today and see if that helps. If not, he's going back on the appetite stimulant.
  • Poor Whisky. Hopefully he's just being stubborn and will start eating on his own soon.
    image
  • I wanna read a Sesh book! I don't have a Kindle or Nook...just a crappy "Cruz". Maybe I will have to buy a hard copy!

Today I need to be semi-productive in the AM at least. I need to finally do all the placecards. I'm going to attempt to glue these cute little gray and yellow flowers that I found on them. I'm just pissed because every single day I'm getting a "I'm not coming now"  or "can I bring this person instead?" or "I'm moving persons A, B, and C to this table now" text. Everyone can suck it. And people (FMIL and FSIL) were giving me shiiiit for not doing these yet. Well I'm not gonna do them yet because you keep fuccking trying to change shiiit. I'm not re-doing anything so changes are officially over. Sorry for that vent.

PM will include laying by the pool and reading Sense and Sensibility.

  • I did buy some of that, les. We'll see if it interests him. It also helps to warm the food up a bit for some reason.
  • It's like Ensure for kittys.  Cleo has lost her fangs and can't keep her food down, but she needs the calories.  I found it at Kroger.

  • Tha'ts annoying, caponi. We didnt bother with seating. We just let them figure it out for themselves. I think the only seating we did was reserve a table for our immediate families after a disaster at my cousin's wedding with her exceptionally rude friends. My mom wanted to make sure there was no repeat of that.

Next Saturday. Kinda running out of time so they're getting done and then that's that.

Sesh--seating arrangements are kind of a must in my area/circle. People would be crazy confused if we didn't do it. And while our venue has never said that we HAVE to (nor is it in the contract) it's kind of assumed--"here's where you put your placecards". Oh well.

Also, Cincinnati is Kroger's home which is partially why they are everywhere. They are doing a big upgrade of ours right now. Which has been a huge PITA while it's been going on since everything is moved to  a different aisle every week but its starting to come together nicely now. We've got a big sushi bar and an awesome lobster tank finally!

Well, it's King Sooper here, but same thing.  I love that store.

We had a head table and let everyone else fend for themselves.  We had a mixture of large round tables and cafe tables, plus a patio and the sitting/living room of the B&B, so I didn't even try to seat people.

I'm roasting a leg of lamb on the grill this afternoon.  I cannot wait for this; it has been too long since I have had lamb..

You used to live very close to where I live now!  The rest of the week should be pretty okay, I honestly think 2 weeks ago was the peak of the stress. It's all downhill from here!

Les--that sounds delicious. Lamb is awesome. I used to hate it when I was a kid but now it's amazing. I've never done a whole leg..hope it goes turns out well! (well rare actually..)

  • Morning! Just finishing up my coffee and mcd's breakfast. H has Walker Texas Ranger on and it is just terrible! Probably going to just relax and read until my massage at noon.

I also did placecards- with the size of the venue and how many people, I was worried there wouldn't be enough space if everyone sat themselves. Al capone I would tell everyone to eff off, no changes, and just do them.

Also- The Avengers and snow White were great movies. I am also wondering how Promethius is.

Good morning everyone! I'm just hanging out and eating yogurt before I have to go to work in an hour.

I made a seating arrangement at the last minute, too. We had everyone at their tables for the ceremony as well, and I wanted our family and closer friends to be closer to us than my work friends. Probably a crappy way to put it, but oh, well. Nobody seemed to notice or care. Besides, my family is so big they took up most of the front section of tables anyway. Plus, some of my work friends don't like some of my other work friends. Eh.

Sesh- I hope Whiskey feels better!

And The Avengers was AWESOME! I saw it twice in the first week, and I hardly ever do that.

<div>I really hope you don't live in the same building I did in Clifton, haha.  I had to move from IN with less than 2 weeks notice when I got my job offer in Cincy, and the apartment I wanted in West Chester wasn't available for 2 months.  So I subletted from a UC student for 6 weeks in Clifton.  That apartment was NASTY.  And it had a huge roach problem, and I'm terrified of roaches.  I didn't sleep more than 2 hours a night the whole time I was there. </div>
