Merry Christmas Eve!

Re: Merry Christmas Eve!

• Morning!

We're heading to the in-laws in a couple of hours. Our big celebration is today, since BIL has to work tomorrow. I've still got to shower, pack our overnight bags, make a dish to bring to lunch, and wrap DH's gift. All with a migraine which I hope the meds take care of soon.
az, I hope your migraine goes away. I think I asked in another thread, but did you ever figure out how to make the fudge with the milk?
Posted by edielaura
I actually just ended up doing three of the four kinds I had recipes for. I saved that one for last and didn't end up having time for it. It's ok, because it's actually pretty similar to the first one I made, which I like much better.
• Morning! (Anyone still around?)

I'm exhausted. I worked until 11:30 last night and got up at 5:30 this morning for work. Effmylife.

It's so dead here right now. I don't know why we needed two people on at the same time this early in the morning. Oh well. It will get busier soon.

• Hi! Merry Christmas Eve! I'm about to go attempt to make caramel sauce and cheesecake dip to take to my in laws tonight. Otherwise it's going to be a pretty lazy day. I need to balance the checkbook and pay bills at some point too.

• Hello ladies! Getting ready to go running with H. We had some really amazing burgers for dinner last night, so we want to try to burn them off.

Not much going on today. H had to take a table over to his buddy's house, but that's about it. Pretty much a regular Saturday for us.

And we're those bad people that opened our gifts early. I think if we were back home celebrating the holidays with family, we would have waited, but we just gave each other our gifts when we bought them. So, tomorrow is just going to be Sunday with an amazing dinner.

• I just woke up and all I have to do today is finish putting some ribbon on gifts, make mini cheesecakes and read. I love not really having anything to do!

We havnt opened any of our gifts and wont until tomorrow - I am pretty proud of myself for not ruining any surprises this year, normally I cave and give adam his gifts early because I cant handle the suspense. I cant wait for him to open the box with the tickets in them tomorrow morning though, thats going to be the best!

I usually want to tell N his gifts right away, but he likes to wait until Christmas (plus he's a last minute shopper). But sometimes we do gifts early because I can't wait--not for my gifts, but I can't wait for him to see his and see if I did a good job. This year, we were good and we're opening with my parents tonight.
• We opened all our presents days ago. I'd rather do it earlier in the week when we have time to enjoy it and spend time together than wait and be rushed Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
• That makes sense, Pirate! I got my gift from my cousin (we exchange names) yesterday and opened it even though I knew it was a Christmas gift because I didn't see the point in waiting until Christmas if I don't get to celebrate then.

He did get really excited to give me my gifts when he got home from the mall yesterday. I tried to pretend like I didn't even see the cute Anthropologie bag under the tree because I didn't want to just sit there and stare at it till tomorrow (H opened his gift when it got delivered by UPS last week). He got me a beautiful, soft gray cowl neck sweater from The Limited, a pretty blue scarf, and three jewelry dishes (one for the bathroom (a bunny), one for my nightstand (a puppy), and one for the kitchen (a fish)). He did good.

• I know what one of my gifts from DH is (I saw him making it), but have absolutely no idea what else he is giving me. We're opening our gifts to each other tomorrow after we get back from the in-laws.
I'm hoping my mom got our Christmas stuff sent off earlier this week. She said it would be here late, but I'm pretty sure she got DH a CD he's been eyeing, and I don't want him to buy it for himself before it comes.
• Good Morning.

I have the house all cleaned and ready for Christmas. But I haven't baked anything yet. I'm supposed to make 2 kinds of fudge, lemon butter snowbars, italian nut balls, snowballs and homemade samoas today. But I don't feel like making any of it.

Tonight H and I will have snacks, watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and open presents.

I hear you on this. If we are able to wait, we do them together on Christmas Eve. My family always celebrates Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day, so we either do them together, alone, that morning or wait until people come over (if we're hosting). There's no way I'd be lugging this crap all over to other people's houses, though.

Mehg, great gifts! I just picked out curtains from Anthro for our bedroom--I'm redoing it in black, white, and purple--and some awesome decanters for our living room coffee table. I love their home stuff.
• Sports always take precedence. Yup.

Oh lord. Someone was boiling eggs, and forgot about them. For long enough that all the water boiled out of the pan, and the eggs started exploding and scorching. I've smelled a lot of really bad things in my life, and I'm pretty sure that scorched egg shell is now close to the top of the list of the worst.

• Ok, I'm off to tackle my to-do list! Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!
• I shouldn't say ALWAYS. But the Packers vs the Bears does always take precedence. So it depends on the game!

• Nates - I love their home stuff too. I've been toying around with the idea of redoing our bedroom in those colors too! We've had brown & aqua for almost three years now, so it's about time for a change. I just worry that black white and purple might be a bit too girlie for H, but oh well.

And J&K, that smell sounds awful. Barf. I had a CW who burned a pop tart in the microwave one time and it was disgusting. The smell didn't leave the office for a good three days.

Same here! And same amount of time. Hello, twin.

I'm planning mainly black and white, with a few purple accents. We got this bedspread and I want a few small purple accent pillows. And the lovely Pirate send us this gorgeous vase, which I'm going to fill with some white flowers.

Alright, I'm out to do some grocery shopping. Have a great holiday or weekend, guys!
• Morning everyone!

I got a whopping 3 hours sleep last night because someone was nice enough to share some awful flu/chest cold with me, so I spent my night with a fever of 103 and the worst body aches ever. And I'm cooking dinner for 10 tonight. So I'm off to go find some super meds so I don't feel like the queen of the dead and I can hopefully feel ok enough to make dinner. This is a nice little kick in the a$s after *just* getting over mono and I'm pretty pissed about it.

Totally sucks, but not surprising. Mono kills your immune system for awhile. I got sick so much in the couple months after I had mono. Make sure you're doing everything y ou can to take care of yourself! And I would be finding a way to pass on making dinner, but I'm a pansy when I'm sick. (And honestly, I don't think I'd want to EAT dinner that a sick person made!)

• Morning and Merry Christmas Eve! I'm tired again this morning, I'm having the worst time sleeping lately. The past few nights I can't fall asleep until midnight or 1. MIL is coming over this afternoon to see C and then after she leaves we are going to my aunt's for the big Christmas Eve family get together. I'm making a dessert with apples and snickers I found on Pinterest so I hope it's good! Enjoy your day ladies!

It's called Longwood Gardens and it's about 45 minutes outside of Philly. They have a huge 20 room conservatory filled with all kinds of flowers and it's on like 300 acres of land. If anyone is ever in the area it's a must see!

• Morning!

I'm waiting for my friend to get here. He's staying with us until tomorrow afternoon. We're going to lunch at a local mexican place he LOVES, and then tonight we're going to see some Christmas lights downtown.

I'm making cinnamon rolls later (for tomorrow morning) from a new recipe, so hopefully they turn out alright.
