    That is terribly sad.  I can understand being sensitive to her sister's feelings but she should get to live her life too.

    That is just terrible.  And as someone with a mentally challenged sister, I can almost guarantee that the sister was taking all her cues from her parents...she probably would have been thrilled if everyone else was.

    Sad. The mother isn't doing the sister any favors by reminding her everyday of her life that she's different and automatially assuming what she is or isn't capable of accomplishing.
