DIY Bouquets

I am having a small wedding and only need 2 bouquets, 3 wrist corsages and a couple boutineres. I want to do the flowers myself but I do not know where is the best spot to buy fresh cut flowers. I've thought about buying some flowers from the floral section of my grocery store but selection is limited. I have never stepped foot in a florist shop before and I do not know if they have bulk flowers that you can buy right there or do they only do bouquets. Does anyone know of any other places to buy flowers?

Sam's Club and Costco have great prices, and there are lots of good online sources for bulk flowers.  Try the grocery stores anyway, sometimes they can special order, and might could help you with making the flowers too, or at least some helpful tips.

If you have never been in a floral shop and have no idea about flowers ,I would suggest going and talking to a florist about doing your bokays for you. Tell them what your budget is and  they will figure out a plan for you. Unless you have some experience arranging flowers ,you are setting your self up for a whole lot of stress and possible catastrophy. JMO

I don't want to spend that much money on flowers. I think they are a waste of money because they die in a couple days. After I get married no ones going to look back and remember flowers. I would call myself pretty crafty or artistic and have arranged many silk flower bouquets for friends. I just would like to something creative for my own wedding using real flowers. I live in a new town and am not familiar with places down here in Miami. I'm looking at making a simple rose or gerbera daisy handtied bouquet.

Depends on the florist.  Some do have a selection of various flowers on hand that you can just go in and ask for a certain number and they will put in them water tubes and wrap them in tissue for you.  Roses are what I have gone in and bought without ordering in advance.  I'd make some calls or get out there and start exploring your new area and see what they have.

I would suggest going and getting a price quote from a florist just so you can see what it will cost for them to do the flowers. They can also give you ideas of flowers that would work well for what you want, flowers that are in season, and flowers alternatives for your price range.  I learned a lot from a few florist visits and now I feel better prepared to do flowers myself.

Also, I suggest practicing with walmart, sam's club, or costco flowers before the wedding so that you can see how long it takes and how hard it is. GL.
