Newbie here. Been lurking for a while, but decided to take the plunge. Basic info: I'm 29, law student (don't throw things at me!), SO is 27, works in the liquor/beer business (craft beer). Been together over a year, we don't live together. I wouldn't call us long distance by any means, but we live about an hour away from each other. 45 minutes if my lead foot is working.
Likes (I came prepared):
-Harry Potter. I mean, how could you not?! Read the series several time and see all the movies on IMAX. I'm a nerd. I'm okay with it.
-All forms of potatoes, from baked to fried to gratin to sweet.
-All cheese except swiss. If I were on death row my final meal would be a giant plate of mac and cheese. My second favorite way to eat cheese is au natural, with crackers. You almost can't do better than a knife, cheese, and crackers. Townhouse crackers or regular saltines.
-Mean Girls, but it makes me sad to watch now because Lindsay Lohan is truly talented and seeing her makes me think, "oh, what a waste!" And what the h_ll happened to all those other funny people? I need more Gretchen Weiners in my life!
Dislikes:
-Mushrooms. I can't help it. It's fungus. Blech
-The unstable economy. I graduate in May and am petrified I won't find a job.
-People who treat Facebook like Twitter. I hate you and your constant status updates. And people who update with vague or coy messages. It's just for attention so people will ask, "Hey, what's that about?"
-I think I should add Facebook to this list.
What might be annoying about me:
-I'm shockingly bad at technology. despite the fact that I participate in a lot of social networking (I blog, tweet, facebook-despite the fact that I hate FB). It might take me a while to get the hang of tickers, PIPs, siggy's and whatnot.
I'm pretty nice and happy to be here! I posted my intro information on that's top post as well. Can't wait to join in!

I only have shredded cheese at the house currently and I'm kinda bummed cause I really just want to chow down on it (but shredded just isn't the same!)
Welcome, please stick around!
I do love mushrooms, though.
I love Twilight, never read Harry Potter, and my current dilemma is what type of ravioli to get. Spinach and Cheese with a light cream sauce or Mushroom ravioli with an jalapeno cream sauce. I think I am going with the first one since you ruined mushrooms for me for the day.

[QUOTE]AbigailMS-I sometimes see mushrooms dishes that look sooo good, but I can't get over the hump. That puff pastry dish sounds divine! I'll have to try it (you know, without the shrooms). And I really like Erica Jong. I read Fear of Flying for the first time a few months ago. Loved it! That quote in your siggy is great. Honestly, it took me a long time to go from lurking to posting. I was/am nervous, but it seemed kind of quiet tonight and the last few posts that have elicited the uber snark have been obvious BSC posters, so I wasn't too scared about that. Random, but I noticed my profile says I joined in 2000(!!!) and I keep wondering who the h_ll 18 year old me was dating that I decided to join the knot! Haha! Clearly, I haven't been active with my measly 6 posts. I apparently have 11 years of posting to catch up on!

Yeah TK has been uber lame the past few days. Last night it was redirecting all of us to Houston.brides.com and was basically shut down. It was also posting things in future time the other day. It's quiet because some people are fed up from swearing at the computer last night that they decided to take a break.

[QUOTE]meamolly-Yes, that's Dani Moonstar from X-Men. One day when I was bored I searched out superheroes with the same first name as me. Enter Ms. Moonstar. And it's even better that X-Men is my favorite comic. Now, I don't really know anything about comics, but I used to watch X-Men cartoons on Saturday mornings and I always thought wolverine was way hotter than Batman or Superman and could do much better than Jean Grey. My nerdiness is just showing through tonight.

We cannot be friends. The only exception to the "Batman is the hottest EVAR" rule MIGHT be Hal Jordan. But really? A hairy manbeast like Wolverine? Pweh.
Then again, my allegiance lies with DC Comics.
[QUOTE]Hi Jeslyn! I love the Vermont Cabot brand of cheeses. Their extra sharp cheddar is honestly the best you can get from a regular grocery store (without having to go to a Whole Foods or a Harry's). I read all the Twilight books and I'll admit to having seen the movies, too, but I will cut* anyone who says they are better than HP. I WILL CUT YOU! I think Bella is one of the worst young protagonists in a long while. Her obsession with Edward is being masked as romance and it's really unhealthy. I'm writing too much about this. I have huge problems with her, though. But I will see the final two movies. I do think the books got better. The second book was the worst, the others are just okay. The movies are horrid, but any excuse for a giant $10 slushie, right? *I am actually non-violent. I will not cut you. Also, I should add to my intro: I am wordy.

I don't need to read anything further. I like you.
I despise twilight so much that I reserve the right not to capitalize it. True story: I recently "unfriended" somebody on Facebook for posting a status asking if Harry Potter is "as good" as twilight.

I'm sorry, but this is such a sick and twisted LIE. I have to agree with Panda on this one. Except Batman is just the hottest EVAR.

Not sure how to paste part of someone else's post onto mine yet, but I almost died at this. DIED! Rozandben, I'm pretty sure our love/hate relationship will be awesome and long lasting!
Thanks Paige and everyone else again for the welcome! I logged in pretty late and missed all the troll action, and it appears the knot is acting up, but I'm off to try and catch up!
