Photographer Suggestions

Hi everyone!  I am starting to search through different photographers and am overwhelmed!! Do any of you have suggestions of photographers that you have worked with in the past or are currently working with?? My wedding will be in St. Paul and I would like to keep the price under $1,000, but that may be unrealistic...

    We are most likely going with Sarah Ciccone. The reason I say most likely is because we're meeting her for the first time tonight :) She's been great to work with through emails and I love the pictures on her website. Her prices are very reasonable - most packages are below $1000. A big bonus is that she is letting us pay in 4 installments - one when we sign, one at the engagement session, one at the wedding, and then one when we get the pictures.

    Otherwise, I've loved working with Ben Berndt and Evan Uribe (his second), but they're around $1500 - $2000

    I second Sarah Ciccone.  We're using her for our May wedding, and already did an engagement session (which we were very pleased with).  She is really great to work with and great prices too!

    We are using Render Photography. Britt has been wonderful to work with. She was working with another company for a long time, and is branching out on her own this season, so her prices this season are amazingly low. We have a lot of add ons and a lot of time and a 2nd photog for $1300. I have epics in my bio. Our wedding is this Saturday so there will be more wedding pics to look at soon! :)

    I'm going with Britt at Render, too. Her prices have increased since I booked with her at $1,400, but she does smaller packages and a la carte options depending on how much you are looking to include.

    Imagen by Alex is almost exactly $1000 with three photoshoots and you get all rights to the pictures.  You also get a $100 credit for prints, but so far we've just taken the files he's given us and printed them on our own.  I was SUPER overwhelmed at first when looking at photographers, but they ended up being the only ones we looked at!
    They are also located right by Cosettas in st paul, so that would be very convenient for you!

    oh I forgot to mention that they don't have time limits, which was a huge thing for me!  I wanted to make sure they'd be there all day so that they didn't miss anything.

    We are also going with Sara Ciccone.  She ranges from $450 for 2 hours to $1200 for a full (10 hour) day.  She has been great to work with.  One perk for us was that we aren't sure if we are going to need 6 or 8 hours, she is allowing us to contract for 6 hours and then if we need 8 on the day of she will just adjust our final payment price. She also assured me that if our 6 hours are up but the cake will be cut in 10 minutes she won't bail on us :) My one concern was that she doesn't have a 'backup' photographer, but from what I hear this is pretty common and not to worry.

    We are going with Joe Kelley.  He is super awesome and down to earth.  We met with him about a month ago and will be doing e-pics with him soon.  He's $1,000 for the day, e-pics, and all of the rights to all of the pics.  http://joekelleyphotography.com

    WOW!!! You are all fantastic!!!!!  Thank you so much for all of the suggestions- it is so wonderful to have recommendations to go off of since there are SO many photographers out there.

    Joe Kelley is great.  We met with him but decided on another photographer.  He was our second choice. I just felt more comfortable with a female so it was nothing against his talent.  Nice guy and great eye!

    A friend used Joe Kelley and LOVED working with him.  He was actually the first contact I made, tried to reach him 2-3 times and never heard back and then we met with Sarah and really like her so I stopped trying to get ahold of him.

    We're also using Britt at Render, so i'll echo pp's that she is AWESOME!
    You should also check out Lisa Jaster @ LMJ Originals - www.lmjoriginals.com- she's branching out on her own after working a long time at another shop. She's also super fantastic to work with!

    Check out www.snapgrinphoto.com. You can definitely do an all day package for $1000, but they also have a couple of other ones that are less then that. The are two of my friends who are very talented and fun to work with!
