Morning!

I actually have to leave for work in about 20 minutes, but I've never started one of these, so yay. Opening shifts suck. On the plus side, I maybe get to have dinner with Veggie tonight, if we can ever find someplace to meet up.

Re: Morning!

  • Afternoon!  Just had a delicious Thai lunch. Nommina nommina. Now I get to work on statistics the rest of the day. Awe.some.
  • Good morning!
I'm having a little kitten time before going to work.  Kittens are goofballs-.0ppppppppppppppp.  (That's boy kitten saying hello.)
  • Aww.. ARe they snuggle bums? I love snuggly kitties, but I've never actually had one. haha
  • Morning! Oh Mica, you must be having such a good time with those kittens. Ada was such a cutie when she was a kitten! I am so glad it is Friday. It's been a long, tedious week at work and I want to sleep in tomorrow, but I can't it's Hallmark ornament premiere weekend and we are going when they open to get the ones we want. We lost out on one last year because FI got there too late.

  • They aremboth snuggle bugs, although the girl is much more of one.  The little boy plays until he's exhausted, then he wants to cuddle until he regains energy.
  • Morning.

There was a terrible accident (highway was shut down for four hours) in front of the bus on the way home last night and I just found out one of the eight people and her unborn child didn't make it. :(
  • Aww... SNUGGLES.

    That's terrible Midge.
  • Morning! I am so tired, FI and I got around 11 and didnt go to bed around 1, so I/we are exhausted, we are usually in bed by 10:30 the latest. I have a short day today though & then have the weekend off so the day will hopefully go by fast.

I asked my mom to help me find a florist and she is so excited, she has been calling around to so many places and decided that we should take a day off and have consultants with florists to get quotes. I'm so happy that she is so excited about the wedding - since my parents werent on board with my relationship with FI at first (for stupid reasons).

Midge - thats so sad =(

  • Midge, was that on 471?  I heard about it on fb.  That is really sad!

Today is my last day at work, and I might cry.  I had issues sleeping last night, because I'm so anxious.  Lots of stuff to finish up before I get kicked off of the network at 5:30!
  • Morning!  I did not want to get out of bed this morning.  I was tempted to let all the dogs come up and cuddle with me, but we've done so well getting Sadie to sleep on the floor.

She's not allowed on the couch either because it's vintage (even if it's not in the best shape, I do have plans to have it recovered one day).  Moe is allowed pretty much everywhere though because he's little :)  I'm sure he taunts the other ones.

  • Yeah, it was 471 MP. Pretty close to where it meets up with 27. A van lost control going north bound, crossed the median and caused a 10 car pile-up.

Dileni, that's great that your mom is getting excited! I hope it means they're ready to support your relationship 100%.
  • LTB - You reminded me that I finally get to go to IKEA on Saturday. I am probably overly excited for this experience.
  • Good morning!  I am SO HAPPY it's Friday.  Andplusalso, I bought a new coffee flavor for our favorite independent place yesterday and it smells incredible.  I'm so ready to brew some of this up so I stop dragging this morning.  Sooooo tired.

  • Good Morning!

I did a small run last night for the first time in almost 3 years (I had hip surgery at the end of '08, and kind of gave up).  The plus side is that I was able to run further and faster than I thought I would be able to.  The down side is that my hip is killing me this morning.  Luckily I have a jumbo supply of ibprofen at my desk.  It did feel good to be back out there, however.

I let my cats into bed with me when they were kittens, but then they grew to be about 16 and 18 pounds, and wanted to sleep on my chest under my chin.  That was a bit suffocating.  It was a hard habit to break, so if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't have let them start sleeping with me.

  • Morning!  Soooo happy it's Friday.

Midge-IKEA is the jam.  There is no way ever to be over excited for it.

LTB-That's exactly why I'm not allowed to go into Target.
  • Howdy, y'all. Serving breakfast and trying hard not to sing along with the Veggietales. ;-)
I'm almost done with my first ELL class - got 100% on the project.  Go me!  Class closes Sunday and the next one starts....Sunday.

Midge - that is so incredibly sad.  Did the driver that caused the accident die too?

Mica - kitten snuggles are so fun!  Pictures?

  • MrsB - There's not much information out there on the specifics that I've been able to find. No one else has died and I don't know if the pregnant woman was the driver of the van or not. "Only" 8 people from the 10 cars were even sent to the hospital.

I'm glad I'm not overly excited for IKEA. We've said we're going to go so many times then plans get changed. Hopefully the same doesn't happen tomorrow. It shouldn't but ya never know.
  • Good Morning!

My exit to work was closed. Permanently. Which just farking sucks, coworker said it's been in the news and the papers. But, there were no signs.

    I was 20 minutes late.

And, I couldn't sleep because DH was hot and I was cold and he kept taking the covers off the bed. I think he was pissed because I came to bed so late.

  • I just had friday cake. They are called kärleksmums (love yums) and basically it's a chocolate brownie, chocolate frosting and coconut sprinkles. sooo goooood.

I've been working on statistics all day, and I've gone effing cross-eyed.

    Only 2 more hours............
  • Midge, I checked out the story on channel 9.  That is so sad!  Most of my friends live on the east side, so that's their way home.  It was all over FB.

On a lighter note:  April is now allowed on the bed.  She and I broke down her dad.  She's not a snuggly dog, and that's the only place she'll really do it.  So I made him give in!  TEE HEE!!  Have you guys ever seen the dog rules about the evolution of a dog's permissions?  It's really funny (at least to me):

    1. The dog is not allowed in the house.
    2. Okay, the dog is allowed in the house, but only in certain rooms.
    3. The dog is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay off the furniture.
    4. The dog can get on the old furniture only.
    5. Fine, the dog is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep with the humans on the bed.
    6. Okay, the dog is allowed on the bed, but only by invitation.
    7. The dog can sleep on the bed whenever he wants, but not under the covers.
    8. The dog can sleep under the covers by invitation only
    9. The dog can sleep under the covers every night.
    10. Humans must ask permission to sleep under the covers with the dog.

We are currently on #7.  DH would like it to stay there, since she's so furry and he doesn't want dog hair on the sheets.

Good morning all and happy Friday.

Mica, I am so jealous of you and your kittehs. I really like cats, but my mom is like deathly allergic to them -- like take a bunch of benadryl and that's enough to keep her out of the hospital but she'll still be super sick for days kind of allergic -- so I won't get one. That didn't stop my brother though, which I think makes him kind of a douche.

And midge, I am so sorry to hear that. I'm always amazed at how nonchalantly we think about driving when it's so obviously the most dangerous thing we all do everyday. You know, unless you're addicted to heroin or something. Everybody stay safe out there!

Also, full disclosure, I went out for a happy hour last night for a friend's birthday, got home late and I swear I'm still a little drunk this morning (note: I didn't drive to work!). I have a feeling it's going to be a looong day.

  • Good morning!

I hate when I wake up and cannot go back to sleep. I'm sure I'll take a nap at some point today.

Mica, snuggly kittens are adorable. :)
  • MP, that's hilarious! I don't have a dog, but that seems about right for all the dog owners I know!

My show opened last night and the audience seemed to like it! My mom, sisters and BIL came to see it, which made me feel super special and happy. There was a critic there, so now we are all on pins and needles until he posts the review. GOD I hope it's good.

I of course got home late and had to work at 7am. I am running on so little sleep. Fortunately I'm working from home today so I can hang in my PJs and maybe take a nap at lunch.
  • Arag, that's so true. All this accident took was one person losing control and crossing the median.

I thought our bus driver was going to cause another accident because they started redirecting traffic down the right shoulder and up an entrance ramp. Our driver decided to attempt driving in reverse up the ramp until a cop told him to turn around and drive forward.
  • Nat, so glad your show went well!!  It sounded so interesting!
  • Cfas, do you regularly get facials?  I'm trying to find a good place in northern Virginia to go, but since I've never had one, I have no idea how to know whether it will be good.
