Bridesmaids vs Hostess

Ladies,

Are any of you having hostesses as part of your wedding party? I am contemplating this idea. I can see two of my homegirls directing people to tables at the reception, making sure that I am not being harassed and bothered.

Yes I am planning on have either two or four. This is for my cousins who I could not let be bridesmaids and FI's nieces who could not do it either. They will have the same color theme dresses a lot cheaper of course and will hand out programs at the ceremony and be in charge of the table seating and possibly refilling the candy bar if I dont hire a DOC.

Wonderful so in saying that....are you including them in all of the bridal activities?

Yes maam all of them except the ask party. I asked the bridesmaids but the hostesses volunteered when they found out they couldnt be bridesmaids so they will have a small corsage at the wedding and be included in all the activities like the bridal shower. None of them are old enough to be a part of the bach party and they will also be at the rehearsal dinner.

I have 2 ushers which are the two little boys who grew up across the street from me. They are 11 and 13 and so I will have my hostess with them at the ceremony. I need to find a hostess for the reception to help people get their place cards. I can't have the same hostess because she is one of my mom's employees and by the reception she will be working with the food. I'm thinking of having my MOHs little sister who is 15 be the hostess at the reception because I'm pretty close with her and I know she will accept.

i am having 3 cousins host. they have similar/cheaper but still cute dresses. Two cousins live out of town so they wont be participating in pre wedding parties but they are included nonetheless.

I used the spouses of the bridal party. I let them wear whatever they wanted. But they were transported to & from in the limos with the BP and were able to hang out with us all day.....

I am having 2 hostess one is a good female friend of my FI who is like a sister to him and went with him to pick out my e-ring and has become a good friend to me. And the other is one of the million female cousins I have(I have like 30) I only have 2 of my female cousins in bridal party. My hostess will be passing out programs and directing people where to sit at the church and then at the reception they will be making sure that if you did not RSVP you will not be allowed in, making sure people can find their seats, that people have signed the guest book and letting people know where to put gifts.
