Newbie...and going crazy with anticipation!

Hi everyone!

I have been lurking around here for quite some time and realized that I am not the only one dying of anticipation knowing that it's coming soon but no idea how soon! We were looking at rings for the first time a few weeks ago and just when I finally calmed myself down and told myself to wait patiently...he takes out this finger sizing thing from his pocket last night and now I am back to where I was a few weeks ago. Naturally I am back to my VERY excited and somewhat impatient self lol. I don't really have a question, I just wanted to say hi and share my torment heh.

-What type of full-time work are you looking for with your psychology degree

    - Is your BF moving towards being a cop? In an academy? Going for a criminal justice degree? Does he want to work for the city or county? How do you feel about being a cop's wife?

-How did you meet your BF?

Thanks for the copy/paste wow you guys are fast!

    - I am actually planning on going back to school to get my Masters in Counselling and hope to become some kind of counsellor/therapist

-The BF has done police foundations at college, just finished his criminology degree and has applied to our local forces as well as OPP (Ontario Provincial Police). He just got a new a job as a durham transit bus driver in the meantime because it is great experience with the public and surprisingly good money! As far as being a cop's wife, it's scary but I support him in anything that he does/wants to do. He is actually more worried about divorces rates for police officers but i assured him it's different for everyone and we will make it work if it is what he wants to do.

    - I met him through a friend, became best friends with him and stayed that way for a good 5 years until we realized we were falling hard for each other and have never been happier Laughing

I think that answers all the questions! Sorry for all the detail, I am bored at work and welcome any chance of doing something other than work haha

Excellent....it sounds like you two are on a really solid path.

Would you consider living together before marriage?

ETA: Oh...and my father was a Sheriff for 30 years- and my parents are still happily married. It's totally doable.

    rdr716-
I do watch tv, but I watch WAY more movies. The last movie that I saw in theaters was Crazy,Stupid, Love which was really good (mm GoslingTongue out)..but I personally prefer horror movies. My last vacation was this past February as a graduation celebration and we went to *unta Cana (apparently not allowed to use the actual word?) which is the second place that I have been to, my first was St Lucia. Both were absolutely amazing and I am looking forward to many more vacations to come!

Liv- Yes i did just lose my wonderful baby scooter, he was just over 4 years old which i hear is the average lifespan but it still shocked me and i cried like a baby..Your Earl is so cute, how long have you had him?

Ollie- Together not a good idea..I am not picky about wine and prefer the really fruity flavors and as far as tequilla, tastes awful but has never failed to result in a good time as long as the amount is not excessive heh

I actually refuse to marry someone before I live with them but will refuse to live with someone before being engaged ( need to know that he is very commited before making such a huge step).

Welcome! I cruise this board at work too. The ladies are hilarious.

I totally see where you're coming from with the anticipation. Especially since he took out that finger measurement thing! Just relax, try not to think about it and enjoy where you are now. When he does propose you'll be super surprised!
Earl was born December 23, 2010, and I took him home on February 13, 2011, so he's been part of the family for just over six months! I love him. From what I hear, four years is actually a really good, long life for a hedgie. That is one of the toughest things about getting him -- knowing that he doesn't have a super long lifespan. But I will love him as long as he is here. :)
    Posted by LivLeighton
6 months aw he is just a baby! I remember when I first brought Scooter home, he was so small he squeezed through the cage bars so I had to put up a wall so i could sleep at night without worrying whether he escaped or not lol. 4 years is good but I wanted him to live FOREVER..my BF took him to the vet with me and bought me this ceramic plaque with his paw prints and quill colour (such a caring guy, love him!)..some people think i am ridiculous for being so upset over a small animal but i am allergic to dogs and cats so small animals are all that I can get and i loved him as much as anyone would love their dog/cat!
In Response to Re: Newbie...and going crazy with anticipation! : It's not silly to be upset over the death of any pet! I will be devastated when Earl eventually goes off the great hedgie wheel in the sky. Earl is fairly small, and the breeder said he'd be pretty much full size at 6 months, so I think I just have a small one. I got a cage with plastic partway up so he can't scoot out. He and the cat get along great, but I think if he got out unsupervised that might be a bit too much temptation for the cat. He's been fussy lately because he's been quilling...I'm sure you remember that stage!
    Posted by LivLeighton
The cage I have has a good 5-6 inches of plastic up the sides but he still managed to climb up and squeeze out, little bugger. Yes i remember the quilling stage very well, i felt so bad for him always itching so i gave him oatmeal baths to soothe his skin as advised by the hedgie forums that i was apart of. Think it may have stressed him out more though because he did not like baths very much, does yours? I heard some enjoy swimming!

Lunar- Yes i have seen that video and many many others while I was in anticipation before getting him. Mine would just run for the walls and attempt to climb up them which obviously failed and i felt so bad each time because he was panicking so much! Agreed..those baby voices were painful to listen to OMG.

I was afraid that you were going to ask that...I have no idea what my fave is because i love so many of them! I do love the Nightmare on Elm Street collection and am still trying to find them all to complete my collection but a more recent movie that I really like was 28 weeks later, I am a sucker for the "zombie" ones. I really just love them all and none of them really scary me except the Exorcist ones, i just can't stand the faces of people when they are possessed..freaks me out!
