L&R!

I just looked at your signature and realized you have less than 2 months to go!

How are you feeling? When are you done with work?

Honestly, this week has been rough, but the bad patches seem to come and go so hopefully next week will be better.  I've just had a lot of ankle swelling and painful braxton hicks this week.   My last work day is June 17th, but I still have some extra vacation days and sick days left to use on top of that, so I doubt I be pushing through a full work week again.  I do not know how people work full time until their due dates.

Ick. Sorry to hear about the swelling and BH contractions. Definitely use up those sick and vacation days and take it easy. Spend some time on the couch with your feet up and watch some trashy tv!

I'm so unbelievably excited for you. I hope you have a wonderfully easy labor with no poops on the table. Maybe a pee on the table for good measure, just like me!

I actually did work full time until the day my water broke, but I am a freak of nature and was unbelievably comfortable throughout. My boss had asked me if I wanted to pick a day to be done with work, and I said no, I'll just work until the end.

    yuck re:BH and swelling.

Have you tried going for pedicures? I will attribute my lack of swelling to regular pedicures (with a nice leg massage) and a few prenatal massages. I only got swollen once - about 32.5 weeks, when we went to the TX Ren Faire and walked around in 85 degree weather for 8 or so hours. I looked like a sausage for the next day or two, but the swelling went down before I landed in the hospital at 33 weeks.

I've had one and I'll probably get another one before my shower.  My swelling is the worst when I have to sit at my desk most of the day.  If I'm walking around or even able to sit with my legs even with my hips I'm fine as long as it isn't too hot.  Today is the first time I woke up with obvious swelling, usually it goes away at night.

Epsom salt baths may help too.

I was told to drink cranberry juice. Just straight cranberry, no sugar or any other juice. It's incredibly tart, so I'd water it down and drink like 2 glasses per day. I think it helped.

Water will help, but I'm sure you're peeing every 10 minutes as it is.

DH suggested that, to help with the aching if nothing else....I will have to give that a try.

I found nothing really helped my swelling (right leg due to the DVTs, but the left leg got bad too). I kept them up as much as I could when I was sitting and made sure to walk at least 10 minutes every hour when I was at work. That made the swelling go down a little.

Otherwise, get those tootsies up in the air! Sleep with your legs on stacked pillows
