I'm from a small town and I have no idea how to find someone who knows what they're doing to do my makeup! I know I don't want to do it myself but I'm not sure how to find someone...

We don't have spas and salons here. The person doing my hair has done it since I was 11. My town is so small that we have to travel 30 mins for wal mart and an hour for a mall.

Do you have any friends or relatives that are particularly good at doing their own makeup? Maybe they could try? I'm doing my own makeup, I tend to think I do a decent job, and I was in theatre for awhile, so I know some tricks. I'm did my sister's for her wedding, and will be doing hers for mine as well.
Also you can go on You Tube where they have a ton of video's on 'How to', you still have quite awhile to teach yourself some good techniques.
I'm pretty good with my own but I want to acheive a different look than my everyday heavy black cat eye eyeliner. I just feel that's too much! Plus I want a more dewey glowy look than normal as well. I won't ever get it right on the day of because I'm sure ill be balling my eyes out...

Your bio says you're near Atlanta. I'm in Athens but I'm originally from the ATL area. (actually I've lived in Dalton, Chatsworth, Canton, Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Canton, Commerce and Athens?!) If you want to PM me where your city is exactly I can maybe recommend someone that is relatively close to there. Lots of time hair and makeup artists in big towns are used to travelling to small towns. Same thing with photographers or caterers.
I think Brooke has great advice. I used my local board and Google--but I live in Dallas! However many DFW vendors travel to small towns--happens all the time.
Youtube is your friend! Dedicate a lot of time and effort to watching tutorials. With some practice you could definitely master the look you're going for.
Go to www.marykay.com and type in your zip code in the Consultant Locator. Go through the pages that come up and check the profiles for those Consultants that specialize in wedding makeup.

I live almost 3 hours from Atlanta and 4 from Savannah. So an hours travel sure...but not 3 or 4.
And for the person who suggested the MK consultant search. Great idea only I'm a MK consultant, I know all of them in my area and I dont want to wear MK foundation that day. While I love it and wear it daily my skin seems to eat it and by the end of the day there are no traces of the foundation and I just can't seem to get it to stay. I can use primer and the whole Timewise collection my face just eats it! So MK is not the way I want to go otherwise I'd do it myself.
