Ceremony Rehearsal

We are having a ceremony rehersal, should we have a rehearsale dinner as well? I know nothing about these as we've never been to one. Who do you invite? What type of dinner is it? Does it have to be dinner?

I'm thinking that since we are have a rehearsal, and the wedding party needs to be there, the least we can do to thank them is have one.

usually its WP only at rehearsal and dinner. where you thank pple and hand out your WP gifts. parents on both sides are there as well

This... If you want invite some extra people to your rehearsal dinner though it's fine...

We will most likely be having our ceremony rehearsal the week before the wedding, if our venue is booked the day before the wedding. We are not having a real RD, what we intend to do is tell our wedding guests where we are planning to go to dinner the night before the wedding, and if they choose to join us they can. (we are reserving a section of the restaurant for our group)

FI's cousin got married last summer and they're rehearsal dinner was a big family get together the night before. They cooked out, people brought stuff. It was a big pre-wedding party.

We're doing a rehearsal dinner the night before, right after rehearsal. For sure we're inviting parents, grandparents, siblings, and wedding party. Might invite out of town relatives too since they are traveling a long way!

see if i invited outta towners that would be everyone im inviting to wedding since sooo small but mmmm might be something to consider do backyard stuff : croquet badminton and fun/games

If you have a rehearsal, you must have a rehearsal dinner to entertain your WP and thank them for participating in the rehearsal. You can choose to invite whomever you'd like on top of the WP. Some people feel that it is polite to invite OOT guests as well.

We're not having a rehearsal, but we are having a dinner for our parents, small WP, and the few OOT guests who will arrive the night before. Because our wedding isn't until the evening the next day, I don't think most people will come the night before.

Yup, usually you have a dinner or some other event to thank your WP members. Typically you have your guys' parents, grandparents, WP and their S/Os at a RD.

OK, so rehearsal dinner is happening. But is it "rude" to host our own? Can I make it to be as simple as finger food or pizza?

We are having a RD after rehersal. It is not rude to have one, but think about what all you will have to make,. I know the day before the wedding, I will NOT be in any mood to cook neither will my mom and MIL. Since the wedding is in my home town, we are having it at a local bar/grill. WP, Parents, Granparents, SO of WP and a few aunts will be there. We are very blessed FI family is paying. I am atctually getting the Grooms Cake for that evening. FI doesnt know, he actually asked not to since we dont like cake and our wedding cake is small. (we are not keeping the top) I would suggest think about it.

We are going to have the rehearsal a week before the wedding, followed by a rehearsal dinner. Our wedding party is very small, consisting of 1 MOH, 1 BM, 2 FGs and 2 RBs but since the children are very young, we will be inviting their parents as well to the rehearsal and dinner.

We're having a get together at his grandparents farm after the rehersal because they live close by. We will have approx 50 people at ours because we are inviting our close families, WP and everyone that is coming up for the weekend to help set up and clean up. Just a big spread of my FI's and my favorite foods.

I want to actually give the WP their gifts the day of the wedding because parts of their gifts are needed for that day- superhero T-shirts and socks for the guys and clutches and jewlery for the girls.
