Hahaha becky that's funny. Not really the same, but it reminds me - my initials used to be LAW and if I had things monogrammed, people thought I put it on my bag because I'm a lawyer. Even I'm not that big of a dork, and I'm a tax lawyer.
Oh God AATB the cost...when I was smoking cigarettes (Marlboros) were like $5 a pack. And I thought that was bad. I think they're close to $8 a pack now.
Rachers, this is like two pages ago but I had to leave and now who knows how long my iPod is going to last. Anyway, it was frustrating. I pushed more carts than the guys and there were always more carts in bad weather because people freak out and have to go grocery shopping.
Pushing lumber carts in the snow sucks.

I quit cold turkey too. I smoked half a pack a day for a year and then it turned into a whole pack a day for another year. I stopped when I found it hard to breathe one day while I was smoking. I never smoked again. I never get the cravings. I was terrified for awhile that if anything stressful happened I wouldn't be able to handle it well because I wouldn't have a cigeratte handy. But I made it!

He works for a Congressman and covers the tax and financial services issues, in addition to some other ones. He's never practiced. He finished his JD in 08 and LLM in 09 so he had pretty much the worst timing ever.
Anna, it sounds like a cool job, at least! Does he have any interest in practicing? And yeah, I always feel terrible for 2008 grads, because they really had no idea what they were getting into - everything was fabulous when they applied for/entered law school.
So far, I've done well kicking the habit of smoking my own cigarettes. I haven't bought them in some time now. Now, when other people offer them to me, that's tougher. It helps that Export A is $15 god damn dollars a pack here.
My mom smokes. Only like 3 or 4 a day, but she has since she was 17 and she's in her mid 50s now. She's tried to quit but complains that she always gains weight when she quits. So she just won't.
When I was a kid and I was learning about all the bad stuff about cigs, I'd go up into the attic (where she smoked), take her cigarettes and hide them. A couple hours later she'd be flipping out demanding to know where they were, lol. Poor woman. She just can't quit them.
