They have the same pp price for Friday and Saturday? Weird..
We're at the Berkeley Plaza October 10 of this year and we are right in that range. Before tax and gratuity we're at $90. They are great people to work with too. We looked at the Greycliff and it's very nice and very reasonable. But just a word of advice, if you do end up with a Sunday keep in mind that October is football season! That's one of the reasons we didn't book with them. We didn't have the schedule last April when we made our decision. We looked at a lot of places, north, south, down the shore etc and the BP was our favorite.
Not to be sensitive but you don't find it a bit ill-mannered to write that a place where somebody is getting married as having "awful" food. I understand the opinion about the decor and none of that was rude - I'm not that big of a fan either (except for the actual room) - I've heard nothing but positive things about the food and I was at a wedding there and loved it which is why we chose the location. Food and enetrtainment were most important to us and we made it a priority - and didnt care about decor much.
Before you think I'm being a child just think of it this way: You find the perfect dress, you're there for your first fitting and somebody says "That dress is just so unflattering on everybody. I don't know why anybody would purchase it." No matter how great you look in it, it's now in the back of your head "is it? really?"
Valley Regency - different Friday and Sunday pricing - also if you can guarantee more ppl the price is negotiable - off season even more so.
I would have had our wedding there if all the dates I wanted weren't booked already =( Boo. We wanted a Sat in spring and the pricing was actually reasonable after I told Franco (is that his name?) that I could guarantee 200 - under $175 pp

I hope I didn't offend you in anyway. Idk if it was my post or the other ladies. But all I said was I was not a "fan" of the food. That's just my personal opinion being that I am such a picky eater. But that is Just me. When you choose a venue it is because everything you were looking for fit right in. Do not let anyone's opinion affect yours. I know your wedding will turn out perfect just the way everyone envisions their wedding.
no no - thank you but it wasn't your comments. it was another post. all other posts weren't taken in any negative way - it's the phrase "food was awful" that made me go whoa.
there's a difference between "not a fan" and "awful"
i mean - 4 events at a time - different staff each time, for all i know that person did have a horrible experience with a particular chef. i've been there for an event before as have other ppl i know and everybody loved the food - especially cocktail hour - so i know there are more pro opinions than con - i guess i just got sensitive about it, it's the the whole "somebody said something bad about my special day" thing =/

I have another post on this board going back and forth between different vendors in Hudson County and if you are looking into all of those venues then I would suggest looking into some places in Hudson County as well. I have been to Waterside and Westin Jersey City and have gotten pricing from the Chart House and The W in Hoboken and they can all definitely work wihtin the 135-150/pp (including tax and gratuity). Westin and the W are closer to the 150pp range but Waterside is beautiful and including tax and gratuity if you are open to a Friday or Sunday night in October 2011 we were quoted 135pp.
