Anyone else had the f*ck it moment yet?

I am so ready to say f*ck it, book a flight to Vegas and get married. I will have our close families and best friends invited, but I'm sick of planning. Sick of watching our bank account deplete (rapidly too!). We have been engaged over 2 years already. Been together for nearly 8 years (damn haha). I just want to be married to my best friend.

Not sure if I need/want validation or someone to talk me down from this metaphorical ledge. FI won't go for this anyways, but this is want I've wanted from day 1. He's the one who wanted the wedding

Haha totally normal! I have thought about it too! I am in such a stressful stage right now. I know in a month it wil be over but ughh yes I don't know how people do this in 6 months! Mailing our STDs this weekend. Finally got everyones address correct. We are going to look at wedding bands this weekend. Our tasting is on the 16th. I am looking forward to that because it is with everyone who is getting married at our venue around the same time. I keep looking at flights for the honeymoon but I keep saying no buy the rings first then book the flight but what if the price goes up. Ugghh it is a juggling game. I need a massage soon to relax!

I had a f*ck it moment. That is when we decided to do a small family only wedding, with a reception that is short and not elaborate. We decided we did not want to spend a whole bunch of money on one day. We would rather have a house sooner. I can totally understand where you are coming from! Not sure if that helped you down from the ledge but everything will work out, just breathe

I too have had the thought at least 100 times. We both wanted to do something small, desitnation type/elopement as well. Our families had different plans. And now when I find myself getting stressed I have to remind myself that it will be worth it and it will be amazing and I will be glad I did it.

I hope.

Now I am thinking about a massage. Thank goodness tomorrow is Greek Fest here. Nothing like a gyro to calm the nerves. Then maybe a massage.

All the time with our guest list! We are trying to cut it down because our venue only holds 220 and we have a list of 240 right now.. and we are afraid every one will show up!!! Its so stressful and I feel like I am constantly fighting with my mom over it and so many times fiance and i say "lets just go to city hall tomorrow", but we both know our parents would kill us haha! We would lose all of deposits and I would hate not to have my dream wedding!

I hate to be the only one - but no, I haven't had that feeling ...(hides in corner!)

I have been with FI for 8 years and we engaged in August of 2012. I think I was sorta mentally planning all that time - looking at things online, getting ideas, that sort of thing. (Not actually booking anything though - just educating myself about wedding stuff in my area). I started socking away money solely in anticipation for this so nothing is really shocking me at this moment in time. I feel as if there is a lot to do - but know we have (some) time and all will be figured out by October.

Also, my parents are very non-pushy about big events and what not - so there is no pressure from my parents, or his mother. I think that is also what is keeping us sane - any choices that are made are totally because it is what we want.

If you want to elope instead - go for it! You can have a very beautiful small celebration and still enjoy it just as much (if not more!) Hang in there!

I already had my f*** it moment. It came when my parents said they would not come if the wedding was not in a Catholic Church. My FI is not Catholic and I am not practicing. We moved the wedding from my hometown in California to Milwaukee where we live now and everything is much better. Hang in there is all I will say.

I run into them about once a month. The wedding officiants we interviewed were BSC/rude/hideously expensive, the venue and food will cost is right about 10k if everyone RSVP's, the budget is teetering on not allowing us a honeymoon [nooo! I need to get away from everyone!], and the stressors go on... Deep breathing and relaxing is the way to go. I find that once I hit a wall, if I calm down for a few days I get my head again and it's not so bad. The wedding is shaping up to be wonderful. We won't go broke. I think I'll get the honeymoon we need. This too shall pass. Hang in there!

Thank you thank you thank you, for also having these moments. I swear I thought I was the only one. About two weeks ago everything was driving me nuts, my stress level hit an all time high, gray hairs to show. Of course funny thing I had a doctors appointment then and my doctor laughed saying she could tell I was stressed, love it. This week is better, so that's a relief. OP there are definitely highs and lows, hopefully this week will be back on the high.

aw, yeah i think it hits us all at one point or another. deep breaths, try and let as much go as you can and just focus on you and your amazing FI and you'll get through it :-)

try and simplify things as much as you can if you are feeling overwhelmed

and when all else fails: wine (maybe that's just me....) ;-)
