Maui Signatue Cocktail

Does anyone know if they sell ant kind of lilikoi flavored booze (hard liquor or like wine coolers) in Hawaii. I wanted to have a signature cocktail at the wedding, and I love love love lilikoi! Did anyone else have signature cocktails, if so what were they?

Alize is passionfruit liquor. I'm sure you can get it on Maui. We are planning on having 4 drinks for our at home reception and will have lilikoi in one of our drinks, too. I think we are going to do a lilikoi mojito. Our signiture wedding drink that we will have at the wedding and at home reception, I created. It has flavors of lychee, vanilla and lime. It's soooo tasty and refreshing! Since we are having a morning wedding ceremony, we will have a mimosa and belinni bar for our guests. We plan on having lilikoi be one of the flavors for that, as well.

Even if they don't have a lilikoi flavored liquor they can still make a signature drink with it by using puree or juice from passion fruit. Typically that is what is used in really delicious cocktails anyway. I know some of the knotties on the board have had lilikoi drinks in the past and I have also seen them listed on the drink options for some of the bartending companies so you should definitely be able to get one in Maui and any good mixologist should be able to make one anywhere else.

We didn't have a signature cocktail -- just open psueduo full bar -- and served pineapple mojitos. Pineapple rum, pineapple juice, and mint. YUM.

We did lilikoi mojitos that were SO good. I say forget the Alize and go straight for the passionfruit puree or fresh juice. It makes all the difference. We also did ginger-pear saketinis and lychee bellinis.

Thanks!

Take a hurricane squall glass,

muddle fresh mint and lime

- Fill with ice

- Add 1.5oz 10 cane rum

- Add 1.0oz of lilikoi (passion

fruit) puree

- Add 1.0oz sweet and sour mix

(homemade = agave nectar +

fresh squeezed lime juice)

- Mix the ingredients in the glass

- Top with soda

- Garnish with lime wheel and

orchid flower

- Optional: add 0.5oz simple syrup for a sweeter drink.
