David's?

Has anyone shopped at the San Felipe location of David's Bridal?  I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on David's Bridal in general, but I really want to check out a couple of the Vera Wang dresses...

I went there.  Too crowded.. Rude staff. You have to share a person and they dont give you individualized appt. that happened both times I went.  May be different if you go at 10 am on a tuesday when everyone is at work.. But I did not buy my dress from them.  I was not happy with my service

I agree with PP. It was terrible when I went, but it wasn't even that crowded. The sales people were just flat out rude and unhelpful.

I bought my dress from David's Bridal in Michigan but wanted to try the dress on for some family/friends in Houston.  They aren't the friendliest people but with some convincing they let me try on the dress I bought at the other store to show my friends.  I'd recommend Ventura's instead.  Much better service.

I think I lucked out at the San Felipe David's Bridal.  I didn't want to go there but fell in love with a dress in their catalog. First one I tried on, and the I ended up buying it so it really was the one.  I was able to get the first appointment on  a weekday last summer.  My salesperson was wonderful because not many people were in there.  That being said, I went back on a Saturday to try on a bra, and it was pure chaos.  I felt so bad for all the brides having to try on their dresses in those conditions.  If you can't go during the week, I wouldn't do it because it won't be a good experience. Good luck!

I always had great service at the San Felipe location, but I also have not been in there for a few years now. The only thing I will warn you about David's Bridal is if you have to order any of your wedding party dresses, keep on top of them about when is the last date you can order the dress as their cut off dates always change per dress.

For my wedding they gave me an April date for my May wedding on my bridesmaids dresses. On Saturday in Feb my MOH went in and ordered her dress. That same weekend...on Sunday...my sister went in to order the same dress (not even 24hrs later) and they said the deadline had passed. I went in and they had changed the cut off date almost two months sooner! And never once called to inform me it was changing!

I grew up near Ventura's so I know they've been there for over 20yrs. I would give them a try.

I bought my dress from them. It was on a Saturday and they were very helpful. She even pulled dresses that I thought would not work. After looking through them, I tried on what was totally opposite of what I wanted and the second dress was the one. I went back and picked up my dress and they were still very helpful. The cons though is that if you are looking for accessories, they do kinda ignore you and dont offer assistance. I made a trip just to check out their shoes. I ended up finding my shoes from JC Penny's in San Antonio. I do hate bad service and I am the type of person you will know if I am unhappy with the service. Do what you feel comfortable doing. Good luck!
