Question about Hair $$

Hi ladies,
I was just wondering what your bridesmaids will be paying for their hair the day of the wedding?  I've been doing some research and have a few places in mind but I feel like it's a bit pricey.  If you don't mind sharing, I would appreciate it.  Thanks so much!

Re: Question about Hair $$

  • I was in the same boat as you.  I didn't require my girls to get their hair or makeup done, but I wanted it to be affordable and accessible so they might be inclined to get it done.  I loved my trials with Cindy Singer for makeup and Jill Kozar for hair, but they were a bit more than I wanted my girls to spend.  So I arranged with Cindy and Jill that I would tell my girls that hair would be $60 and makeup would be $55 and I paid the difference directly to Cindy and Jill without my BMs ever knowing.  To me it was most important that I loved my hair and makeup.  I'm sure my girls wouldn't have cringed at Jill and Cindy's regular prices (esp since I paid for their dresses and jewelry), but I just didn't want them to.  Anyway, subsidizing the cost behind their back is always an option!

Hi, I am actually on my sisters Knot page. I am helping her plan her wedding. I am married and the bridesmaids did pay for their own hair. I paid for my Matron of Honor to get her makeup done professionally for that day. There is a really nice hair Salon in Northern Liberties on Giard Avenue called Signatures Du Mei. Excellent Prices and Hairstylists.
  • The place I'm using charges the same for the bride and the BMs. It's $75 for makeup and $60-$70 for hair. I had contacted my girls ahead of time to see what their H&MU budget was because even though I'm not requiring them to have anything done, I wanted to make sure that if they chose to get it done, they could afford it.

I was thinking about maybe paying for a portion of it.  That's a great idea and I may end up doing that.  Not sure if it's in my budget but I could probably make room.  Thanks for this idea!

This makes me feel a little better as the price I was given was $75 so not too far off from you.  It seems that is fairly typical.  I am not requiring them to get it done but if they do and cannot pay the whole amount I may help with a portion of it.  Thanks for sharing!

  • typically the bms pay for their own hair if they choose to get it done.  If you are requiring that they get it done professionaly, then you should pay or at least cover some if not most of the cost.
