Why did I not hire a calligrapher?

I've been sitting here addressing our invitations.  At 10 invitations an hour (that's the pace so far) I'm going to be doing this forever.  Any great tips to make it go faster?

First suggestion:  Get of the Knot and work on just the invites.  But I need something to keep me distracted.

Ugh, I'm not looking forward to that either! I'd say have a glass of wine but that probably wouldn't help!

I just kept the spreadsheet opened up and wrote away.  Our STDs only took an evening, but addressing the envelopes for invitations took a couple nights.  Are you also stuffing the envelopes?  I'd leave that to your FI or at least for another night - just keep writing!

So I was kind of exciting about learning calligraphy before it's time for our invites. What was I thinking?!?

I decided I would take the time to do calligraphy because it looks so pretty.  I'm definitely second guessing that decision at this point.  I know when they are all done they will be beautiful and I will be glad that I did them this way.  But in the mean time, it is going to be many nights of me sitting at the kitchen table working.  It's a good thing that I started early so I'm not in a big rush.  They won't go out until the first week in May.  I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I printed them calligraphy style on the computer.  They looked nice and neat (I printed them on the envelope not on a label).  The were obviously not hand done, but I am guessing nobody cared/noticed too much.  Don’t regret it--250 invites done on the computer still took 5 hours to get put together.
