I saw this on the Post Gazette's website yesterday and meant to post it then, but I forgot.

cch, I totally agree. If I were still looking for a venue, I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. It's bound to blow up somehow.

We attended a wedding there last year.  Although, it turned out to be fabulous in the end, it definitely was more stressful for the bride than it really needed to be.  Plus, during the ceremony, Chucki was everywhere. He is in most of the pics we got of the happy couple, popping up behind a fence, then he even asked a guest of the wedding to move thier things, so he could sit down and take pictures of his own for his collection.  Really, he had no business doing that.  He was very difficult to see around and it took away from the ceremony.  Also, the neighbors of the Mansion are not happy with Chucki (obviously). The houses are all very close and the noise carries.  The cops show up on a regular basis we are told, to include that night. One of them even did loud woodworking (loud chain saw type noise) during the ceremony.
To be fair though, if I wasn't close with the bride, I never would have thought anything other than, "Wow, what a beautiful venue".  I just happen to be privy to many details.

To any brides thinking about using the Mansion at Maple Heights, be vary careful.  I think there are many other beautiful venues in Pittsburgh where you can have a similar flair with less stress.

Pittsburgh September Siggy - Our honeymoon will be at the Royal Suites Turquesas in P*nta Cana. Super excited!
