Photographer-reasonable prices but still awesome? Portland/Vancouver area.

I'm having troubles finding an awesome photographer that won't totally break my bank in the Portland or Vancouver WA areas.

We can better help you if you can let us know your ballpark budget.  What breaks the bank for some isn't a big deal for others....

I'm using Rob Powell. He has been a photographer for 35 years, and weddings are his specialty. His wedding rates start at $500. With that, you get the rights to the photos, a few prints that he does for you, and all of the photos on a high-res disc. He is located in Beaverton, and his website is http://robpowellphoto.com

I got married in June in Orange County, CA, but my photographer just relocated to Portland -- Wayne Toshikazu.  He is absolutely amazing, and has my highest recommendation!  He is worth every penny, but since he's just starting his business in the Portland area, maybe you can get a hot deal :)

Jaye Reilly is amazing...she loves to travel and I spoke with her recently and said she hasn't done a wedding in Oregon yet and really wants to come up here (she's from California)..so I told her I'd keep an eye out for anyone looking! She has some really decently priced packages ranging 800-1200...check out her site: www.jayereillyphotography.com

Anyway, I think she even said that she'd travel to the area on her own expense since she really wants to do a wedding in Oregon. If you contact her, let her know daisy sent you!

akanalynn@- Just an FYI since you're new here, but direct solicitation or offering of services by vendors is generally a big no-no here.  Plenty of ladies have some kind of tie to the wedding industry, but as a rule we do not blatantly self-promote.

Just a heads up before TPTB decide to get involved :)

The key about what your budget is would really help here, but also I've discovered you need to look at what's a value too. If it's cheaper up front, but then you pay more if you want a disc or an album, then it might be smarter to think about the whole cost up front. We've been talking with Sara Gray Photography and her packages all include albums, which is cool since lots of photographers charge at least a grand for those. And her packages start at $2,400. I think we're going to go with her. Her site: http://www.saragrayphotography.com
    Hope that helps!
