The art of self-love.

Re: The art of self-love.

• 1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down.
I love my hands, feet, legs, and butt.

2) Something you love about your body from the neck up.
I love all of facial features, eyes, nose, and smile.

3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical.
I love the way that I think about things.
I love that I am dedicated enough to workout 5-6 days a week (not sure if this one counts)

I wish I could workout one day a week. This is really awesome that you can do this.
1. I would have to choose between my hourglass figure and my tattoos that cover most of my back. I know they aren't natural but they are part of me, and they make me feel beautiful.
I agree and I'm sure most of my friends would too! While I wasn't born with my tattoos they're very much a part of my body and who I am. LOVE looking at them.

• 1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down. My ass, it's not as nice as it wasn when I was younger, but it gets DH's attention. I buy certain pants just for him.
2) Something you love about your body from the neck up. My eyes, I get a lot of compliments on them.
3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical. I'm strong. I have lived through a lot. I only touch on part of it on here. But I deal well with what life throws at me.

Thank you.

AB- I had that happen one time and it ended up in some random thread in the Boston local or something. You can try to find it by looking in your recent posts and see if it shows up somewhere.

ETA- Never mind AB I didn't even see it in your post history. I guess the interwebs found it delicious. It must have been a good post.

Thanks! I have a really good home gym set-up which helps alot.
• I'm only halfway through the thread but I'm going to answer quick and go back. I freaking love this thread!

Below the neck - I'm proud of my arms - I've been working on them a lot and they've gotten really strong and you can see my muscles. I like that.

Above the neck - this is going to sound vain but I like my face. It's always behaved - when I can't get the rest of my body to do what I want my face is just nice. I've never had pimples or anything and I have freckles (which I used to hate but now love) so I always have sort of a glow even though I don't go in the sun.

Non-physical - I am a very compassionate person and I have strong social skills. We joke in my family that my sister is the really musical one, my brother is a genius and my talent is that I'm nice. It's a joke but I kind of love it - I am nice and I can talk to and connect with anyone and it turns out it's made me really successful in what I'm doing.
Below shoulders: This might sound strange, but can I choose my insides? It seems like 2008, '09, '10 have been the years of cancer for people I know or friends of friends. I'm so weary of hearing the dreaded "c" word. More than any physical aspect of my body, I thank God every day that I am strong and healthy and I pray to stay that way. Above shoulders: I love everything about my eyes - I love their color (green with gold around my pupil), I love my eyelashes, I love my eyebrows.. I'm quite happy with my eyes. Non-physical: I can speak. I love public speaking, I love emceeing events; I can entertain a crowded room of strangers without breaking a sweat (well, *I* think I'm entertaining lol). It's like a microphone is my secret weapon.

ETA: Hit post too soon! Jenny that does not sound strange at all! Every time I have a good doctor's appointment I say a little prayer of thanks. I completely understand. I'm sorry you've had some years of cancer. I completely know how that goes and if you ever want to talk it out let me know!

• Interwebs ate what I posted before...I'll try again.
1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down.
I have a pretty rockin bod and I'm proud of it. I'm about a size 2 and I have 34DD boobs. I breastfed for a year and a half and I thank the midget for them daily.
2) Something you love about your body from the neck up.
My hair. I have locs that go down to the middle of my back. Locs take a lot of patience to grow - there's a period where I looked like Flava Flav - and I started them after shaving my head 4 years agoafter a bad break up. I get complimented on them a lot (or little old ladies asking to touch my hair)
3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical.
I can joke about anything, even (and usually) at my own expense. I'll take a good laugh over a good cry any day of the week. If I can laugh about it I can live through it.

• 1. I'm a curvy girl... And I'm cool with it. I've always been a 'woman of substance' and ill never be stick thin. It took me a while to embrace that. 2. I love my eyes. One is blue & one is green. I also adore my hair. I used to hate it because it's so thick, but once I discovered a straightener, the right shampoo for my hair and some shine serum, I love it. I constantly get complimented on it and FI loves brushing it for me now that it's getting long. 3. I'm a very outgoing person, and I can be sensitive at times. While it can hurt me sometimes, other times it makes me very proud to be me. Example- FI and I went to dinner the other night & had a very sweet, very KU server who had a horrible table across the aisle. FI left her a $15 tip on a $45 dinner.. I slipped an extra $10 under my plate for her without him knowing. I'm also very strong willed and I learn everything the hard way. But I'll be damned if I don't learn from it and don't ever do it again. :) Willed

• Thanks guys ::blushes:: I brought home some extra copies of the paper so I could put it on the fridge and I may have sent a copy to my mom and dad haha
• Ohhhh these are so fun!

1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down.
Well, my boobs are always a good selling point! =) For performance purposes, they're basically my tag line. But for reals, I do enjoy them. I used to hate them/be embarrassed by their size, but I've learned to love them over time. They help with my hourglass figure, so no matter what my gut looks like, I always have that "Jessica Rabbit" look so I think that's fab.

2) Something you love about your body from the neck up.
My eyes. I totally got the Tara Banks "smize" down! =)

3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical.
I'm a very logical person, in that I can see both sides to every story and make decisions based on sound logic. I really think I'd make a good judge, but I hae zero interest in law school. Oh and I'm also a fiercely loyal friend. If you're down with me, I got your back 1000000% and will tear apart anyone who messes with my friends. Mama bear for sure!

• 1) My boobs? Lol. I get a lot of compliments on them.

2) My eyes. Both my eyes are different colors, and people really notice them. I also like how they look with gold eye shadow, and mascara. :p

3) My sense of humor. I find myself funny.

My CW says my sense of irony is awesome.

And, I think I'm really compassionate. I find myself to be more empathetic, than sympathetic, and I think it comes off as a lot more genuine.

Ooh this for me too. My friends call me "Mama Widder Frosting". Cuz I take care of my children.
• Love this thread!

1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down: my feet :)
2) Something you love about your body from the neck up: my lips
3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical: I had the perseverance to survive nursing school! I graduate in 2 days! yay!
• 1. I love my freckles. I have a few on my fingers I love, 2 cute little ones on my stomach, and a mole on my back just left of the "tramp stamp" area. I like to think Scott thinks it's sexy when I reach for things and my mole peeks out. At least, I think it's sexy :P

2. I want to answer my freckles for this one, but that's cheating. I have really straight teeth.

3. I am 100% willing to act like a complete dumbass if it will make Scott or my best friend smile. I like that I'm able to keep a straight face when I do it, too.

An aside: I never got the freckle hate, honestly. I was once told I could never be more than "cute" because my freckles ruined me. I wish my facial freckles were MORE noticeable.
• Late, late, late, but this is fun.

Below the shoulders - my butt and legs are nice. I look good in jeans and dress pants. And they will stay that way thanks to my bicycle.

Above the nece - I have pretty green eyes. I love the color.

Not physical - I'm strong, and I'm funny. I like that I make people laugh regularly, and that I've been through a hell of a lot of crap, and I turned out ok. I'm proud of what I've accomplished on my own.

• I'm a total perv, I thought this post was about something else hehe.

1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down: I love my hands, they're strong but feminine, not too big, not too small. I can use my left hand just as well as my right hand for just about anything except writing. They're good hands *self high five*
2) Something you love about your body from the neck up: I love my smile, dimples, lips, teeth and all. I love that it's slightly crooked on one side and I love that in pictures you can tell when I'm really happy/excited b/c I show like all my teeth. I hope my smile makes other people happy when they see it.
3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical: I love that I am compassionate and understanding. I care deeply for others and want to see them prosper.

• Great game!

1) Something you love about your body from the shoulders down.
I love my lower back. I like the way it curves. :)
2) Something you love about your body from the neck up.
My teeth! They are now perfectly straight thanks to braces. I love to smile now!
3) Something you love about yourself that's not physical.
I'm fiercly loyal and protective of those I love.
