Wedding Woes

This would give me the shakes.

DH is as sweet as pie, BUT, he is a slob. He will leave his plates from breakfast & lunch sitting on the table with his coffee cup that has proceeded to dry up and cake onto the bottom. I'm talking leave the bowl of cereal with some milk still in it. He comes home from work and takes off his uniform and leaves it on the floor.

He will take of his shoes and socks downstairs and then leave them in the middle of the living room floor. I don't understand how it is so hard for him to bring them upstairs. His dirty laundry never makes it into the basket, although, they make it directly on the floor NEXT tot he basket.

He just leaves his crap everywhere. I went on a boycott and refused to clean up after him before we were married - but the mess just got progressively worse. I love a clean house, but I feel I am cleaning it ALL the time!

It gives me the nags. H does this, and I'm constantly bitching about it. He's getting better all the time, though, so I guess - nagging works?

This is DH and it drives me batty.  he has a basket in the kitchen and den.  When they get full I give him a 1 week warning.  If he doesn't clean it up by then I dump it all.

A couple friend of ours has a "sock basket" in their living room, because they were both annoyed with the socks that accumulated on the floor.  They say it saved their marriage.

But leaving food out? No. Totally unsanitary and gross.  You know who does this? Neanderthal BIL.  'nuff said.

all those dirty bowls would end up in his clothes drawers or on his pillow.

when dh and i had to share a bathroom (HELL), i left empty toilet paper rolls in his briefcase.

It bothers me that H leaves his cereal bowl half full of milk in the sink every morning.  It irritates me that he doesn't dump the milk and that he pours and that he wastefully drowns his cereal when he has no intention of finishing it.  But at least he gets it to the sink.

I just a friendly gal looking for options.

To clarify, DH doesn't leave food out.  It's papers and clothing.

H used to be a slob, but he has been re-trained. I will never, ever leave him. I have too much time and effort invested in him. There is no way I am shipping him off for another woman to benefit from all my hard work.
