wedding colors

Just curious as to what all you ladies are thinking for wedding colors/theme?  I have always loved turquoise/teal (my wardrobe is pretty much exclusively that color family), and my FI like blue as well, so we're going with a Tiffany Blue/turquoise/maybe even as far as mint green palatte.  I was never a fan of matchy-matchy, so we're going with a range within those tones.  I am extra excited because it seeems those are totally the colors of this spring - it's all over every store I shop in recently!  We are also planning on a vintage-type feel - lace wedding gown, burnished gold & cream accents, etc.  Just hoping that somehow I can make what it's my head a reality, lol!  Attached a photo of our inspiration :)

Re: wedding colors

  • We don't really have a theme, but we are keeping with soft, spring like colors for our classic, outdoor wedding. Lavender and baby blue, with hints of pale pink thrown in. Smile
  • We've decided on robin's egg blue, various shades of "spring" green, and cream/ivory.. We're going for a nature/rustic vibe :)
  • We have decided on bright spring colors... pink, yellow, anda mago-esque color. I have always wanted a spring wedding... and want it to be bright and fun! :-)
  • All of those sound beautiful! If you're beachy type people you could also use seashells for table decor and accents. Michaels has a beautiful cake cutter set and cake topper that I've always wanted, but it doesn't match the theme we wound up doing.
We're off the map- we're going black, white, and red. Our theme is WWE/Wrestlemania. (We met at a Wrestlemania party.)
  • We're using blush/pale pink, gold, and ivory.

I picked a medium/royal blue, and FI insisted on picking a second color. Unfortunately for me, he picked orange just because he knew it would drive me nuts. It drives me nuts not because I don't like it, but because I am a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and orange and blue are our arch-rivals, the Bears' colors. I love him, but he's such a butt-head sometimes. :)

  • we like yellow and white, and I like bridemaids wear long dress in church. It is hard to wearing a bright yellow long dress, I am worry the light yellow one will get washed out in the red carpet grand church setting. Any recommendation out there to endure the elegant church setting plus the outdoor bright yellow and white theme?
  • We haven't settled solidly on one color scheme, but we tend to be leaning toward a Sage and Silver with light purple and black accents.

We're thinking of a tree theme. We're thinking of the color schemes of blue, white and a hint of either yellow or green. However, I'm currently trying to convince my Fiance to have the colors from The Lorax (our kids favorite movie!!!). I just think it'd be different, fun, and bright!
  • We are doing Malibu blue, Regency purple, and Canary yellow for our colors. Wanted something bright and to have both of our favorite colors in there wih some purple :-)

we are doing black and white for our colors - I wanted something simple, easy and cheap! I want my bridesmaids to all be able to easily wear their dresses again too so black seems like the best way to go and also the easiest to find (I want them to be able to get the dresses from somewhere like H&M where the dress is still fashionable and looks nice but doesn't cost much).

we may do a third color just for small accents, maybe a bright purple or bright aqua to brighten things up a bit  :)
  • I saw a book at B&N recently that sums up my vision: rustic chic. My vision was inspired by a reception table that I saw on a venue website. It was a white table linen with a burlap runner. It was simple, yet classic...I love it. Our colors will be sage green and browns, and I want to incorporate burlap at the reception, and maybe with the flowergirl basket and ringbearer pillow. My centerpiece idea is little white and/or yellow flowers in mason jars, and wrapping the mason jar with a strip of burlap, then wrapping that with a sage green ribbon/bow.

  • We're doing navy blue & blush/light pinks & whites.  They guys will be wearing dark grey & the girls will be in the navy with pink flowers.  We're getting married in a botanic graden so I've been focusing on a romatinc garden theme.

  • What color is Malibu.
  • David's Bridal Sangria/Tangerine and Ivory. Having a hard time finding bridesmaids dresses with their right shade of sangria. Help!
  • We're going with blush pink, gold, and ivory.  I wanted something very classic and romantic, while my FI had no opinion about colours.

  • For our Mexico beach wedding, we are doing Monaco blue and dark coral. Basically, red and blue, with accents of yellow, white, and green. I wanted blue, he wanted Red. So, we are sticking to mostly primary colors, which we think will bring in both the colors of the beach and the fact that we are in Mexico.

  • We're doing royal blue & white, to match my blue shoes.
  • We are doing navy blue and coral. No real theme but we are going for a rustic feel with a little country thrown in too. But nothing over the top!
  • We're doing a teal/pool/silver combo. The colors look great together on the BM's dresses from Alfred Angelo. Silver accents will be throughout the entire wedding from jewelry, to shoes to the beading on my dress. No real theme though, but that's okay in my book.

  • I have candy apple/coca cola red paired with aqua. I know it's a bold choice but gosh darn it I think it will be really awesome! My MOH is red-head so aqua is the easiest choice to go with. I really like some of the choices I have seen on here- I never would have thought coral and navy blue with gray. Super classy ladies!
  • Its a light bright blue color from Davids bridal
  • Yellow and shades of gray. We are doing a vintage theme with lace, wine bottles and lots of crystal brooches included.
