Cake Stand

Do you think a cake stand is really necessary?  They are SO expensive for a one time use.  Does anyone have a 22" they'd like to sell? I live in CT so I could pick up local or possibly ship.

    Have you checked your local rental company?  The same place we're renting our chair covers from also rents cake stands, it's like $20 for the day.

    My baker uses glass blocks (the kind you'd get from Lowe's) with Christmas lights inside the circle.  Inexpensive and beautiful.
