Anyone from Green Bay/Appleton/Oshkosh?

I know this is technically the Milwaukee board, but are there any other brides from the Fox Valley area?  I'm trying to plan my wedding on a budget (which is quickly flying out the window), but I don't really know where to find resources other than the 'net, and I am without good searching skills (I'm made of failsauce in that respect).Cakes, photographers, jewelry/shoes, wedding day make-up, a zillion other things I'm probably forgetting... they all elude me. :p

I'm in Green Bay, but I met with a few vendors from the fox valley areaPhotography - I booked Adam Shea www.adamsheaphoto.com, he just re-worked all of his package prices. They are SO worth it for all the extras and the quality of his work.Cake - Cake Designs by Joann. She's out of Algoma, but she delivers as far as Appleton I think. She is very reasonably priced and her cake is delicious.Jewelry & shoes - I had my jewelry custom made by www.moniquesboutique.us - gorgeous and inexpensive. I bought my shoes online from www.shoebuy.com - Make sure to search for a coupon first!Makeup - I booked Moda Bella Salon & Spa for hair & makeup. They are in Green Bay, but there are a plethora of salons in Appleton/Oshkosh that offer the same services.I found the vendor section of weddingwire.com to be extremely helpful in my search. If you would like some help searching, please feel free to email me at knottie.michelle142@gmail.com. In my 1.5 year engagement I've looked up and met with a TON of different vendors from the area. I'll do my best to help!

I am new to this board, but I am planning my wedding in Green Bay.  I have quite a few things booked already and am kind of a crazy person when it comes to getting the best deal for my money. I totally second the weddingwire.com suggestion.  I have found EVERYTHING there and they have reviews which is really nice.  Where is your wedding? As that will affect the recommendations.

I'm also in Green Bay, but we had started out having everything in Appleton (closer to our families).  We still had the ceremony in Appleton, but ended up having the reception in Ashwaubenon.Bernie's Cakes is fairly reasonable, if you can get over working with Ron.  (He's a bit of an odd duck.)  That's in De Pere and I'm almost positive they'd drive to Appleton.Cakes from Scratch was reasonable years ago when I'd talked to them; this is on Packerland Drive in Green Bay and the lady was super nice.Cake Anatomy was very reasonable and nice to work with when a friend got married about 2 years ago.  http://www.cakeanatomy.com/Jewelry/shoes - I got my jewelry from David's Bridal and Macy's.  Don't limit yourself to "bridal" stores.  I got my shoes from Target, surprisingly, but also had purchased a nice pair from Zappos.com (LOVE THEM!)

Thank you all so much for all of the recommendations!  I'll definitely be checking them out over the next couple days - the weddingwire one looks especially promising. :)The wedding itself will be on the outskirts of De Pere, on the way to Appleton.  Er, unless you wanted to know the actual location, in which case it's at Apple Creek Inn (both ceremony and reception).

I've been to several weddings at Apple Creek Inn! The outdoor ceremony location is beautiful.A friend of mine got married there 2 years ago, she got her cake from a place in Kaukauna. It was the most delicious cake ever. I'm not 100% sure on the name of the bakery though. I'll give her a call and let you know!

Photography=twoguysphotography.com.  They are out of oshkosh and are very reasonable (as compared to the other photographer is Wausau).  Best part is he doesn't charge extra for the rights to the photos.  That was really important to me.Cake=I've also heard great reviews for the cake lady in green bay.  Not sure of the number but just look up "the cake lady" and you'll get their number.  Good luck!

I am from Appleton. Like Michelle, I booked Adam Shea for a photographer. He is so easy going and great to work with. I am getting my flowers the Joan of Art Floral. She has a business out of her house in Kimberly and is very reasonable. Our cake is being made by Delicious Designs. She also works out of her house and is very reasonably priced ($1.70 a slice). I got my dress from Bridal Elegance in Kaukauna. They are great to work with. Good luck!

I live in Oshkosh but I am 95% sure I won't be getting married here... Oshkosh has nothing. I've been to my share of Appleton/Green Bay weddings and we'll be getting married somewhere around there too. I'm excited I found this thread!! It seems like every thing I look at is about Milwaukee or Madison!

Cake Anatomy is reasonably priced, GREAT to work with, and they have the nicest looking cakes. If you're still looking for a photographer, check out limelightstudios.com. They're out of Oshkosh but I love their photos so it might be worth it to see if they'll drive to where you're at.

On a side note, anyone know of an open minded pre-marital place?

I just moved to Appleton, too, and I'm planning my wedding for the end of next summer - I was just looking for info, too!!  I haven't read through all of your responses yet, but thanks for the ideas, I'll look into them, too!!  So far the only things I've done are book the Grand Meridian (thegrandmeridian.com) and the baker - we met her at an open house this past weekend, and her cake was EXCELLENT!!  Her prices are super reasonable, and I'm really excited that we were able to get her :)  Her website is lindsaybrooks.com

I am getting married in Green Bay as well. I have a friend from highschool that does photography, hes pretty good... glitzphotography.com. A friend of mine had Pixels Photography and her pictures turned out amazing!
I got my dress at the Bridal Event in Appleton...they have soooo many dresses!
I havent got much else, ceremony at St John the Evangelist....oldest fully running catholic church in the state, it is beautiful! Reception at Riverside Ballroom, which was built in the 20's :)

Also, if any of you are interested in ceremony music, I have played violin for 12 years, and a friend of mine (who has played longer than me) have just started doing wedding ceremonies.  We are not amazing, but we do the usual wedding songs and if we know ahead of time, can possibly learn something unique! We don't charge much, so let me know if any of you are interested!!
