Need more input

I found this dress today. I was a "huh, that look interesting, why don't I try it?"

Then I did, and thought that it was way more me than anything else I've tried on. Plus, I'm having an outdoor wedding, & I thought this fit that venue better than the other gowns.

I'm concerned that its so simple. Should I get the 20 lb corset dress that people expect to see on a bride? Should I just stick with a fancier, mermaid corset dress that I know will flatter curves? (I must admit, i looked SKINNY in that thing!) Do I want to worry about pulling off a slinky gown if I'm not willowy or model type? lol as you can see, I'm confused by falling for a dress I didn't think I wanted. lol

I'm not sure that I think it's the right dress for you. I'm not sure that it's as flattering as I think a different style of dress could be.

However, my opinion on the subject doesn't really matter.

Maybe you could mull it over and go back and try it again? And if you love it just as much the second time then this is the dress for you. Don't go with the type of dress everyone is expecting to see simply because people are expecting to see it, go with the dress that you feel comfortable in. But, if you have any doubts about this dress at all don't buy it.

I personally don't like the dress. If you don't want a corest dress, you don't have to wear one. Go for a slinky gown if you want!

It's your wedding. Get what makes YOU happy. Who cares if the "norm" is a big puffy dress? I'm not wearing a big puffy dress, and you don't have to, either.

is it the photo or is their some kind of shadow or embellishment across your hips/crotch area?

I chose a gown that I think is more me and more fun than the ball gown or traditional wedding gown, and Im almost possitive that I could find a more flattering gown out there, but looking the skinniest possible isnt worth wearing a dress you feel like should be on someone else.

The shape is not bad on you, but that ruffle (I think) in the front is Horrible! I am sorry. I know you like the dress, but I have never understood that one ruffle straight down the middle of you...It is just screaming "LOOK AT MY CROTCH!" When there is only one person who should want to do that on your wedding day! Honestly, I say go with whatever makes you happiest though. Don't feel pressure to buy the ball gown because that is what everyone expects. My entire life I dreamed of the cinderella ball gown, and wound up falling in love with a fun a-line tea length gown! Good luck finding the dress you love...(yes, even if it is this dress).

It is a pretty dress, but not very flattering on you from what I can see from the pic. I am not wearing a big fancy ball gown either and I don't have a huge train. I would keep looking esp if your wedding isn't until next year. I don't want to discourage you bc if your heart is set on it, by all means, get it, but I am just saying I think you could do better. Did you take anyone with you like your Mom or sister or a friend? Sometimes that helps too.

I'm so sorry but I think you should keep looking. I'm not saying you have to adhere to standards and buy a big poofy dress, but I just don't like that dress at all. I just think the way the front of that dress is constructed draws attention to the wrong places.

I definitely think you should go with your gut and choose something with more shape to it. After losing a lot of weight I've decided not to go with the big dress with pickups that I originally chose. I would go shopping a try on some other mermaid or trumpet style gowns.

i think this dress would be great for an outdoor wedding! wear whatever you are going to be most comfortable in and feel the best in, don't worry about what other people will expect.
