Cue Dress Panic In 3...2...1...

So I have been in love with The Dress since I first laid eyes on it. It's a style I know is very flattering to me, has the perfect neckline, is the fit (ball gown) I've always wanted and it's got zero embellishments. In short, it's my dream.

Today I logged on to the website to visit my dream and found out that the dress is no longer available in stores!!! This means when I go to try gowns The Dress is no longer an option and I think my heart actually broke a little bit.

Help? Has anybody bought a dress online? What if you hate it when you try it on? I was so worried about that happening in store but now it's a HUGE worry if I am actually going to purchase the dress online. Should I just try to fall in love with another dress?

  • I actually did buy my dress online from a depart store without trying it on, but I caught a sale where there was free shipping as well as money off, and I made sure to verfiy that I could return it to the store if I ended up not liking it.  I probably wouldn't have risked it if I couldn't return it and couldn't return it at the store w/o having to pay return shipping.

I would ask DB if they take back items purchased online at their stores.  That is if you can't find a store that still has a sample of the dress, like others suggested above.
  • They're discontinuing that already?! Weird! I almost bought that, but we took a bunch of pics and looking at them later I realized it was not very flattering... felt really good on, but I'm a bean pole and I had zeroooo curves in this dress. It kind of made me look thick, too, 'cause the pleats stick out (don't lay flat across your belly, etc).........

Not that I'm talking you out of it, lol, just telling you my experience with it :)

Definitely call a DB or 2, I'd bet money that they still have a sample. Try it on and see what you think, you know? You may not love it as much on as you think

  • i used to work for a davids bridal, andi can tell you right now, that they can look up the style of that dress and check the inventory of every store in the country to see who still has it and they can probably find it in your size too.    i would go to your closest db have them look it up for you, and do what you can to see if they can get it transfered to your store, its not something that they do very often, and it really depends on the management staff at that particular store, but it should be do-able...
  • i'd call your local DB and check. my oleg cassini got discontinued about 9 months ago, but they still had the dress on the racks in numerous sizes last time i went (about a month ago). granted, my dress wasn't a popular style, but i'd still call and check. GL
