Venues in NH: Lots of questions!

First post on theknot.com! :) I'm a newbie.

I just got engaged a few days ago (hooray!) and am trying to find a fantastic venue for my wedding. So, a few questions:

What is a typical PP cost in NH?
Do you know of any venues where you can bring in your own alcohol?
What kind of venues are out there that aren't "typical" like a hotel or banquet facility? My fiance (heh) loves Searles Castle, but it's a bit out of our price range. Anyone know of something similar or unique like that?

Any other info you think I should know about a NH wedding? We're thinking Fall 2011. Thanks everyone!! Smile

Flag Hill Vineyard and Winery in Lee isn't "typical." I'm getting married there this coming July. The prices are great and they are SUPER easy to work with. Not sure how late in the fall you're looking at, I think they only do outside weddings until The end of September. They provide the alcohol though.

I originally wanted a winter wedding inside a big hotel until I saw Flag Hill. It's good to keep your eyes and options open!

    Welcome to the boards!

You can actually find a wide range of prices for venues. Do a lot of research, visit a lot of venues and ask a lot of questions. Each venue has a different price person as well as different options included in the price person. I also encourage you to keep a spread sheet of what is included for each venue and price per person. That way you can easily make your decisions.

Some venues also are different price per person based on what your food choices are.

Welcome and Congratulations!! This board is super helpful and you'll find information to fit just about any budget. Like PP's said, the prices of venues around NH can vary depending on location and the venue. Check out the NH knotties website (in Gab's siggy) and you'll see vendors and venues we've used and would recommend.

    Again, welcome!

Congratulations on your engagement! Welcome to the boards! The NH girls are fabulous - and as you can see already - VERY helpful. I agree with the girls - check out the NH Knotties Page and do lots of research. :) GL!

Welcome! Congrats on your engagement!! I was married at the Fisher Cat's Stadium (about as non-traditional as it gets) there are a few other non-traditional sites).

Our pp cost at Fratello's was $34ish and another $4-5K for the bar for 150.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm so psyched! :)

This definitely seems like a nice bunch of laides (and gentlemen... if you're out there) so I'm pretty psyched about that too!

Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, has 2 different venues.
The Pearl in Portsmouth is a historic church in downtown, they allow BYOB.
The currier gallery of art in manchester also rents out for weddigs, but is not inexpensive.
Not sure it's non-traditional, but there's the Mile Away in Milford.
There's also Cathedral of the Pines out towards keene.

hey!  we got married at searles castle in july and it was so fabulous...but super pricey- approx $100 pp.  the previous suggestions are great- good luck!

ps: with the price thing out of the way...if you can swing the castle (which we could not have without my parents' help)...it was amazing beyond my dreams!

I looked at the Castle and they offered me some price reductions. I lOVE the venue but I'm not sure if it's affordable!
