Day of Silence

So today is Day of Silence http://www.dayofsilence.org/index.cfm

I have a few students following this day and in this class there are 2 boys carrying around white boards to write and communicate.  They are using laptops to research stuff for the end of year projects and have found this site http://www.readthewords.com/ to type things in to communicate.

It has become rather comical just to type something in and listen to how the people say it.  They have made it sound like a creeper in a van with candy, they have put "boom boom boom let me hear you say way-o" and various other song lyrics.  This class period has gone to waste :)

    I want to be in your class!  My teachers would have never put up with "Day of Silence".

    I remember one particular Day of Silence from a few years back.  In one of my classes (I think it was Bible as Literature), I was usually in the same small group with three of my friends, and they usually had a lot to say once we went to full class discussions.  Well, all three of them were participating in Day of Silence, so I became the mouthpiece for the group; one of them would scribble out what they wanted to interject, and I'd read it aloud.  It was rather entertaining.
    This is a neglected planning bio.
    This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    Fridays at my school are somewhat of a wash.  The periods are only 40 minutes and we get out an hour earlier.  I teach several shop classes, so with cleanup there is not much point in going in the shop on Fridays.
