I've only seen the movie for Boy with the Striped Pajamas, and know next to nothing about Girl with a Pearl Earring, but which would you prefer to read?

Well, hey, that's good news. I'd always rather read something new! I just hate buying kids books for myself b/c they normally read so much faster and then I feel like I'm overpaying in terms of cost per hour of entertainment.
Yes, I prefer matinee movies, too.
I like to think of myself as financially savvy. Cheap just sounds so...cheap! ;)

Desert- Why not check out your local library? They might have a copy. I know mine has a few of both books. Save yourself the $6-$10.
